  • Patent number: 7441568
Abstract: An adhesive liquid dispensing apparatus includes a gun manifold, a dispensing module, and a dispensing orifice. The inlet port of the gun manifold is directly coupled with a reservoir of adhesive hot melt liquid that is fixedly attached to the manifold. The contents of the reservoir are under pressure so that the adhesive hot melt liquid is dispensed from the adhesive liquid dispensing apparatus without the need for heated supply hoses to connect the inlet port of the manifold to a remote source of adhesive hot melt liquid. Preferably, the adhesive liquid dispensing system is coupled with a robot that controls the positioning of the system during an adhesive liquid dispensing operation.

  • Patent number: 5447254
Abstract: A dispenser which prevents dripping and drooling of liquid material upon shut off of the dispenser, especially during intermittent dispensing operations. The first embodiment includes a nozzle body and nozzle fitting which include liquid flow passageways and together form an air passageway which communicates with a discharge passageway upstream of the discharge end of the nozzle fitting. Exhaust air from the dispenser is directed into the air passageway such that excess liquid material is blown out of the discharge passageway and off of the discharge end of the nozzle fitting immediately upon shut off of the dispenser. A second embodiment incorporates this anti-drip and anti-drool feature directly into the valve and valve stem of the dispenser by providing the air passageway through the valve and valve stem.

  • Patent number: 5318207
Abstract: A pressurized solution of a material with a dissolved gas is maintained and dispensed in a system that allows the material can be dispensed as a foam at any location. The system is portable and avoids the need for a large mixing apparatus at the location The system includes a portable container having a movable member defining an expandable chamber. The chamber is filled the material/gas solution from a pressurized source of solution which may be at another location Force is maintained on the movable member to keep the material/gas solution under pressure. The material/gas solution is maintained under pressure in the container to avoid premature foaming of the solution by the maintaining force on the movable member. The force can be provided in various ways, including the use of a predetermined amount of fluid in the container on the other side of the movable member from the chamber or the use of an external source of pressurized fluid.

  • Patent number: 5207352
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing a solution of highly viscous polymeric material and gas includes a dispenser connected to a pressure regulator which is adapted to connect to a source of a pressurized polymer/gas solution. Minimal pressure drop due to line losses occurs in the course of transmitting the solution from the pressure regulator into the dispenser because of their close proximity, and the solution is maintained under controlled pressure throughout passage to the discharge outlet of a nozzle carried by the dispenser so that the gas is maintained in solution in the polymeric material until it is discharged from the nozzle to atmosphere. The flow rate of solution through the dispenser is variable by operation of adjustable valve structure associated with the dispenser and/or by operation of the pressure regulator.
