Abstract: Compositions and topical formulations comprising a PPAR agonist complex comprising glyceryl linoleate, glyceryl linolenate, xymenynic acid, and Pterocarpus marsupium bark extract are described herein. Methods of inducing skin barrier repair, increasing the biosynthesis of barrier lipids and proteins in the skin, stimulating hair growth, treating acne and combinations thereof utilizing the composition and topical formulations are also provided herein.

Abstract: The compositions of various embodiments include a tocopherol phosphate mixture (TPM) comprising a liposome having a lipid bilayer and an internal aqueous compartment, a lipophilic ingredient, a polar solvent system, an alcohol, a base, and a water soluble phase, wherein the liposome is made of a tocopherol phosphate derivative, wherein the lipophilic ingredients are entrapped in the lipophilic bilayer of the liposome, and wherein a water soluble ingredient is dissolved in the water soluble phase and is in the internal compartment of the liposome. The methods include improving the look of skin particularly of the neck and décolletage, increasing expression of an extracellular matrix proteins in skin, improving a keloid scar in a subject, and improving aging skin. Additionally, methods for preparing said compositions are described herein.

The invention further relates to a method for topically administering the composition in an amount therapeutically effective to reduce wrinkles by building the dermal fibroblast matrix. The invention further relates to a method of treating wrinkled skin by topically administering the composition to an individual in need of such treatment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for treating acne comprising an anti-microbial peptide made from the amino acids phenylalanine, alanine, leucine and lysine with said peptide admixed with salicylic acid and/or salicylate salts in a cosmetic delivery vehicle containing a rehydrating polymer. The invention further relates to a method for treating acne by topically administering one of the compositions in an amount therapeutically effective to reduce the redness and blemishes associated with acne.
