  • Publication number: 20230302748
Abstract: According to examples, a processor may place anchor points at determined locations of a digital model of an item to be fabricated by a threedimensional (3D) fabrication system. The anchor points may include points that remain in place during a placement determination of pores on the digital model and may correspond to locations at which pores are or are not to be formed in the digital model. The processor may determine places at which the pores are to be set in the digital model of the item, in which the pores are to be placed to comply with a predefined constraint with respect to each other and the anchor points and may modify the digital model to place the pores at the determined places in the digital model and to add pores at anchor points that correspond to pores in the digital model.

  • Publication number: 20230305524
Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor that may obtain a digital model of an item to be fabricated by a 3D fabrication system. The digital model may include pores or pores are to be added algorithmically to the digital model and the pores traverse a curved section of the digital model. The processor may identify within the digital model, consecutive pores along the curved section that fail to comply with a predefined constraint, in which the predefined constraint may include an inter-pore distance constraint, an inter-pore cross-sectional area constraint, or a combination thereof. The processor may modify the digital model to remove at least some of the identified pores to cause remaining pores along the curved section to comply with the predefined constraint.

  • Patent number: 11149979
Abstract: A decorative air vent apparatus can be used to cover air vent openings that supply heated or cooled air to a room from a central HVAC system. The decorative air vent is comprised of a housing, a decorative insert, and a decorative face plate. The housing supplants or is inserted into a conventional HVAC air vent opening and provides a space for the attachment and display of a decorative insert on the interior of the vent opening. The decorative face plate attaches to the housing, and has a central opening allowing for visual observation of the interior of the housing for the observer's enjoyment of the displayed decorative insert. The insert and face plate present artistic patterns or depictions and are interchangeable. When not used in conjunction with the housing, the decorative insert can be attached directly to the decorative face plate and displayed on a flat surface.

  • Publication number: 20190313484
Abstract: The present invention presents a method and apparatus for the dynamic combination of a heating element and an object presence sensor for the purpose of creating a control loop in which a heating element responds to the detection of any desired material within a measurable range from the heating element. The system described in the previous sentence will be referred to as “cell” for the remainder of this patent. One application of this invention is in cooktops that could dynamically create cooking regions from an array of these cells, allowing users to place pots or pans anywhere on the surface of the cooktop. The ability to create a dynamic grid which only heats up areas which are covered either directly by food or by an intermediate cooking vessel results in a state of the art cooking surface improving upon both the performance and efficiency of its predecessors.

  • Patent number: 9508100
Abstract: There is discloses an on-line method of analysing financial accounting data, a server and a computer program. Certain embodiments of the method comprise receiving at a server uploaded financial accounting data from a client computer which includes a set of accounts A organized into account groups G. The financial accounting data is mapped to an accounting ontology stored at the server comprising at least a pre-defined set of primary category tags C and a pre-defined set of base level tags B each associated with a primary category tag C. The accounts are mapped according to mapping account groups G to primary category tags C and mapping accounts A to base level tags B, wherein each base level tag B has an associated set of criteria K. The mapped data is then analysed at the server. The results may be authorized to be shared with interested third parties.

  • Patent number: 6673560
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for the measurement of hydride using a chemiluminescent compound. The preferred chemiluminescent molecule is an acridinium compound. The source of hydride for the reduction of acridinium compound may be of chemical or biochemical origin, or the result of enzymatic catalysis. The chemical source of hydride, for example, might be metal hydrides, such as NaBH4. A biochemical source of hydride might be that derived from NADH, or NADPH, while an enzymatic source would be the class of oxidoreductases termed dehydrogenases which convert NADH or NADPH from NAD or NADP. There are numerous potential applications for acridinium compounds as chemiluminescent indicators of hydride. Any applied tests or diagnostic assays, in which hydride is either present at the onset of or generated through the course of a reaction, would benefit from the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5638930
Abstract: The present invention relates to a strut-type synchronizer. The conventional multi-component strut assembly is replaced with a one-piece strut component having a base segment and a key segment interconnected by a cantilevered biasing segment. The base segment is adapted to be mounted for sliding movement in a guide slot formed in the clutch hub while the key segment is adapted to engage the internal splines of the axially movable clutch sleeve. The biasing segment is adapted to resiliently bias the key segment into engagement with internal splines of clutch sleeve. The one-piece strut component reduces the number of parts associated with the strut-type synchronizer and results in simple and more cost effectively assembling operations.

  • Patent number: 5592856
Abstract: A spring biased shifter assembly is disclosed for use with a manually operated multi-speed transmission. The shifter assembly includes a shift tower to which a shift lever of a shift mechanism is pivotally mounted. A pair of spaced apart single leaf flat springs continuously downwardly bias a portion of the shift mechanism, thereby biasing the shift lever to a neutral position. The springs are located within slots defined by the shift tower and are further held in place by a cover that is fastened to the shift tower. The particular configuration of the single leaf flat springs provides improved shifter feel, substantially eliminates play in the shifter assembly, and automatically self-centers the shift lever to a neutral position while maintaining a constant downward biasing force thereon. The single leaf flat springs are preferably constructed of a fiber reinforced composite material, thereby providing excellent noise attenuation properties.
