  • Publication number: 20100284561
Abstract: An armature apparatus includes a first tine member, a second tine member, a center tine member, and a connecting portion. The first tine member has a first length and a first width and these define a first surface. The second tine member has a second length and a second width and these define a second surface. The first surface generally faces the second surface and the first surface is generally parallel relation to the second surface. The center tine member has a third length and the third length is generally parallel to the first length and the second length. The connecting portion couples the center tine member to the first surface along the first length and to the second surface along the second length. The center tine member is generally disposed in a plane extending between the first tine member and the second tine member and the plane divides the first surface of the first tine member and the second surface of the second tine member.

  • Publication number: 20100177183
Abstract: An electronic device utilized for personal inspection of areas of the body that cannot be viewed in detail utilizing mirrors. Back light and focus capabilities of the device allow for clear concise viewing of hard to view areas. A measurement component further provides a means to repeat views of a certain area accurately, and the ability to monitor changes in size of a lesion. When connected to a common desktop or laptop computer these areas can be closely inspected and recorded for comparison with future inspections by creating digital images of the area in question. Changes in size or color of moles and other common lesions can be monitored for possible association with skin cancers. The digital images can be transmitted electronically to your health care provider for a diagnosis or recommendation. This method will blend well with the current trend toward outpatient services and home health care.

  • Publication number: 20100163124
Abstract: A liquid pressurization device which is housed within a single rectangular housing that utilizes a solar panel as the front cover and the only source of energy. An interchangeable pulley mounted on a motion controlled technology motor allows for a wide range of pressure and volume scenarios common to liquid pressurization applications, and in combination with a motor controller and driver board, and programmable logic control board, these pressure and volume scenarios are further optimized for the utilization of solar energy as the sole energy source. Said programmable logic board further provides ports for firmware updates, monitoring devices, and diagnostic devices. A lever is reciprocated by an energy transfer pulley that transfers drive force to the liquid end of the apparatus, providing a low friction multiplication of available power. The liquid end of the apparatus is further designed for ease of maintenance to replaceable components with limited life spans.

  • Publication number: 20090245321
Abstract: A method for identifying types of flaws in a composite object includes: a) rapidly heating the surface of the object; b) recording pixel intensities in a sequence of IR images; c) determining temperature-versus-time data for each of the pixels from the IR images; and d) determining what type of flaw if any corresponds to each of the pixels using the temperature-versus-time data determined in step (c). A contrast curve derived from the temperature-versus-time data may be used in determining what type of flaws if any corresponds to each of the pixels. The contrast curve may be determined by subtracting a synthetic reference curve from a temperature time curve from the temperature-versus-time data. The types of flaws may be determined from size and/or shapes of peaks in the contrast curves. Some flaws are delaminations, layers of porosity, and uniformly distributed porosity.

  • Patent number: 7117757
Abstract: A high-pressure probe insertion and retraction apparatus that is self contained in that it does not require additional tools to complete the insertion and retraction process. A conveyance tube is used to convey the probe into a high-pressure vessel or flowline, thereby allowing transmission of chemicals, pneumatic signals, and electronic signals, in addition to conveyance of traditional probes that do not require this transmission capability. The design of the apparatus allows the insertion and retraction process to be completed without rotation of the conveyance tube or probe, and provides the added benefit of a positive upward force for retraction of the probe when the conveyance tube has been fouled or bent during exposure to fluids within the high-pressure vessel or flowline. The apparatus further provides a positive locking mechanism to allow insertion to a variety of insertion depths with the ability to lock the apparatus at each specific depth of insertion.

  • Patent number: 6030310
Abstract: A variator assembly comprises a variator of the toroidal-race rolling-traction type using double-acting pistons to control the rollers and differential end load pressure to load the variator, and control means operative to vary the differential end load pressure in sympathy with changes in the net pressure exerted by the roller-control pistons so as to maintain the traction coefficient at the roller disc interface consistently below the limit at which traction would be lost.

  • Patent number: 5949986
Abstract: A method for testing electrical connectivity between conductive structures on a chip that is preferably layered with conductive and nonconductive layers. The method includes determining the layer on which each structure is located and defining the perimeter of each structure. Conductive layer connections between each of the layers are determined, and, for each structure, the points of intersection between the perimeter of that structure and the perimeter of each other structure on the chip are also determined. Finally, electrical connections between the structures are determined using the points of intersection and the conductive layer connections.

  • Patent number: 5813741
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a shelf support assembly having a pair of lateral support brackets removably mounted in a refrigerator, a support member interconnecting the lateral support brackets, and a central support bracket attached to the support member. A cross brace interconnects the central support bracket with one of the lateral support brackets. The central support bracket, cross brace, and lateral support brackets cooperate to define a support frame which slidingly supports a slidable shelf and pivotally supports a pivotable shelf. The sliding shelf includes stops to limit movement thereof. The pivotable shelf can be pivotally moved between a horizontal deployed position and first and second angled storage positions. The pivotable shelf includes detents which engage the support frame and releasably retain the pivotable shelf in one of the angled storage positions.

  • Patent number: 4176096
Abstract: A novel, durable thermosetting acrylic automotive finish and method for manufacturing same is described which is manufactured from a predispersed, substantially dry composition. The resultant thermosetting acrylic finish has a higher pigment loading at a sprayable viscosity, thereby reducing the number of applications necessary to produce an acceptable automotive finish. In tests conducted by applicants, the described thermosetting acrylic automotive finish exhibits acceptable durability when exposed to solar radiation for extended periods of time.
