  • Patent number: 5694716
Abstract: A root feeding device for dispersing plant food or other substances into the soil. The root feeding device (10) includes a reservoir (12) for being implanted in soil and for receiving the plant food or other substances to be dispersed into the soil. The reservoir (12) defines a plurality of perforations (22) through which the plant food or other substance is dispersed. The device (10) also includes a water dispensing wand (26) for dispensing water under pressure which, in accordance with the method of the present invention, is used to bore a hole in the soil to facilitate the implantation of the reservoir (12) in the soil. A conduit (38) of the water dispensing wand (26) is received through the reservoir (12) and water dispensed from the conduit (38) erodes the soil, thereby producing a hole in the soil into which the reservoir (12) is carried.

  • Patent number: 5060955
Abstract: A game apparatus and associated playing method. The game apparatus comprises two cup members, each cup member defining a cavity therein and having an upper portion defining an opening accessing the cavity. Each cup member is provided at its upper end portion with an outwardly disposed flange defining an upper surface, and when in use the cup members are recessed into the playing surface such that the upper surface of the flange is substantially level with the playing surface. The game apparatus also includes a plurality of pucks for being tossed at the cup members. In accordance with the playing method of the present invention the cup members are placed a preselected distance apart, and opposing players toss a selected number of pucks, alternately, at one cup member and then the other from a position behind the cup member not being targeted. A first scoring value is assigned to pucks which come to rest in the cavity of the targeted cup member.

  • Patent number: 4779360
Abstract: A shoe attachment (10) for being releasably mounted on a shoe (16), boot or the like to prevent inner and outer skidding is disclosed. The attachment (10) comprises a body (12) having an upper (14) which is releasably mounted on the lower portion of the shoe (16). This upper (14), in the preferred embodiment, terminates in a sole (22) which defines, with the upper, the cavity which receives the shoe (16). The sole (22) is fabricated such that skidding is reduced between the attachment sole (22) and the supporting surface (26) and between the attachment sole (22) and the shoe sole (22) received within the attachment cavity.
