  • Patent number: 4762871
Abstract: A reinforced, flame retardant molding composition based on polyalkylene terephthalate were found to be imparted an improved level of mold release properties upon the incorporation therein of a sufficient amount of a compound conforming to the structure of ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrocarbon derivative of a polyhydric alcohol preferably ethylene glycol, glycerol or pentaerythritol, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a lower alkyl, n is about 10 to 30 and x is 2, 3 or 4.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 21, 1987
Date of Patent: August 9, 1988
    Assignee: Mobay Corporation
    Inventor: George R. Kriek
  • Patent number: 4732922
Abstract: Flame resistant, reinforced thermoplastic molding compositions based on polyethylene terephthalate resins were found to have a lowered tendency to drip during burning upon the addition thereto of a sufficient amount of a particular ionic elastomer. The addition of the drip suppressant in accordance with the invention does not compromise the physical and mechanical properties of the composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 1987
Date of Patent: March 22, 1988
    Assignee: Mobay Corporation
Inventors: George R. Kriek, Mark W. Witman
  • Patent number: 4542177
Abstract: The invention relates to a thermoplastic molding composition comprising a blend of a thermoplastic polyester and a reinforcing amount of a reinforcing agent. An improvement in the impact performance of the composition is disclosed to result upon the incorporation therewith of a blocked (end-capped) polyisocyanate prepolymer.
