  • Patent number: 4683052
Abstract: A method is described for non-oxidatively reactivating coked dewaxing catalyst comprising a zeolite component such as ZSM-5 or zeolite beta. Use of a noble metal as a hydrogenation component associated with the zeolite component, preferably palladium, results in a catalyst which is readily reactivatable by contact with hydrogen at elevated temperatures.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 9, 1986
Date of Patent: July 28, 1987
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
Inventors: Thomas F. Degnan, Jr., George R. Landolt
  • Patent number: 4518708
Abstract: In a process for treatment of a fresh iridium-containing catalyst, the improvement consists of a three step procedure in sequence including treatment with oxygen, treatment with hydrogen chloride, and treatment with a reducing agent such as hydrogen.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 1984
Date of Patent: May 21, 1985
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
Inventors: Sowmithri Krishnamurthy, George R. Landolt, Hans J. Schoennagel
  • Patent number: 4359400
Abstract: Supported multi-metallic platinum-containing hydrocarbon conversion catalysts which are at least partially deactivated due to the deposition of carbonaceous residues thereon during contact with hydrocarbons are regenerated by (1) contacting the catalyst with oxygen to burn at least a portion of the carbonaceous residues from the catalyst, (2) contacting the carbonaceous residue depleted catalyst with hydrogen at an elevated temperature to convert a substantial portion of the non-platinum component present in the catalyst to its metallic form, (3) contacting the reduced catalyst with dry hydrogen chloride in the absence of oxygen, (4) treatment of the hydrogen chloride treated catalyst with chlorine, and (5) reduction of the chlorine treated catalyst with a reducing agent, such as hydrogen.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 27, 1981
Date of Patent: November 16, 1982
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
Inventors: George R. Landolt, William D. McHale, Hans J. Schoennagel
  • Patent number: RE29857
Abstract: Catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons is carried out by contacting the same with a family of crystalline zeolites designated as ZSM-having the composition expressed as mol ratios of oxides as follows:0.9.+-.M.sub.2/n O:Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 :ySiO.sub.2 :zH.sub.2 Owherein M is at least one cation having a valence n, y is at least 5 and z is between 0-40, said aluminosilicates characterized by a specific X-ray powder diffraction pattern.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 3, 1978
Date of Patent: December 5, 1978
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
Inventors: Robert J. Argauer, George R. Landolt
