  • Patent number: 4337520
Abstract: In magnetic bubble memories both linear and switched drive circuits are presently in use. The linear circuit can employ a capacitor to achieve resonance and may operate at a relatively high efficiency. However, when a linear coil drive circuit, which had been designed to operate at resonance, is operated just off resonance a substantial loss of power efficiency is observed. A switched coil drive circuit is described herein which achieves high operating power efficiency by using a capacitor in parallel with the bubble coil.

  • Patent number: 4156934
Abstract: Disclosed is a bubble memory system adapted for construction on a single construction unit such as a pluggable card and for providing to prospective users a standard interface including an input data port, an output data port, a clear port, a store enable port, read and write enable ports, register select ports and a clock port. In the memory system, a plurality of bubble memory chips are interconnected in parallel with each of the chips being separately accessed for writing or reading purposes with the aid of the register select ports. Common control of the bubble memory chips is obtained through digitally generated control signals. Low voltage protection is provided by appropriately turning off the in-plane rotating field when the power source exhibits a low voltage condition, thereby protecting the stored data.

  • Patent number: H422
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for inverting articles utilizing a fixture which comprises a pair of hinged plates each containing a plurality of holes. The holes in opposite sides are in alignment with one another and are connected to two vacuum switches so that vacuum to each plate can be independently controlled. Articles recognized as being upside down are placed over the holes in a first plate with the vacuum activated on that side to secure the articles to the plate. The plates are then rotated together about the hinge. The vacuum on the first plate is released, and the vacuum on the second plate is activated. As a consequence, the articles are transferred right side up to the second plate.
