  • Publication number: 20110032731
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for using isolated and non-isolated circuit structures and control methods for achieving multiple independently regulated input and output parameters using a single, simple, primary magnetic circuit element. For example, structures and methods are revealed for achieving single-stage power factor correction with high power factor and multiple independently regulated outputs using a single, simple, primary magnetic circuit element. Other structures and methods are revealed for achieving multiple independently regulated outputs without power factor correction using a single primary magnetic circuit element for both isolated and non-isolated power conversion applications.

  • Publication number: 20100328971
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for using coupled inductor boost circuits to operate in a zero current switching (ZCS) and/or a zero voltage switching (ZVS) boundary mode. Some embodiments include a coupled inductor boost circuit that can substantially eliminate rectifier reverse recovery effects without using a high side primary switch and a high side primary switch driver. Other embodiments include a coupled inductor boost circuit that can achieve substantially zero voltage switching. ZCS and ZVS modes may be effectuated using control techniques. For example, a magnetizing current may be sensed or otherwise represented, and a signal may be generated accordingly for controlling switching of the controller.

  • Patent number: 5425825
Abstract: A plastic bag having a reclosable plastic zipper is provided with a tamper-evident, non-reclosable peel seal formed by applying an adhesive to a treated strip adjacent to the interlocking zipper. The treatment is preferably by corona discharge, which causes the adhesive used to provide the peel seal to preferentially adhere to the treated strip when the peel seal is broken. A method for manufacturing the reclosable plastic zipper includes the steps of extruding a zipper profile, treating a portion of its surface, preferably by corona discharge, applying an adhesive to the treated portion, slitting the profile lengthwise, and folding over one of the resulting sides of the zipper to interlock them with one another.

  • Patent number: 5231375
Abstract: A system is disclosed for deterring theft of portable electronic equipment that operates in accordance with an industry standard known as EIA-232-D. A theft deterrent unit monitors signal current transmitted between interconnected electronic units. When one or more of the interconnected electronic units is disconnected, the theft deterrent unit detects the cessation of signal current and activates an alarm. The alarm may be used to generate a local alarm such as, for example, an audible alarm, and the alarm signal may be transmitted to a central alarm system for further processing.

  • Patent number: 4791710
Abstract: A method and structure for a non-reopening extruded plastic profile fastener wherein complementary rib and groove type profiles are constructed and arranged to be pressed into interlocking relationship, and provided with restraining means against permanent interlocking so that the fastener can be handled as an assembly with the profiles aligned for interlocking but not interlocked until the means are overridden and the profiles pressed into interlocked relation with one form of the overridable means being a frangible diaphragm across the groove to prevent movement of the rib and in another form a projecting strut which is yieldable with the application of a predetermined force or which is removable to permit the profiles to be moved to fully interlocked position.
