  • Patent number: 7520406
Abstract: A device for applying controlled unitized doses of a flowable material to a surface is disclosed. The device includes a tubular body and a plunger. The body has a wall defining a cavity, and the body has a first open end and an opposite second end having a dispensing orifice. A flowable material is contained in the cavity of the body. The plunger has an outer sleeve dimensioned for surrounding at least a section the body and an inner pushing structure dimensioned for axial movement in the cavity of the body. The device has means for indexed positioning of the second end of the body and an inner end of the inner pushing structure of the plunger relative to each other to provide controlled unitized doses of the flowable material to a surface when the plunger is moved toward the body by a user's hand.

  • Publication number: 20080106286
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a routing engine, a method of routing a test probe and a testing system employing the router or the method. In one embodiment, the routing engine is for use with a test unit having at least one test probe and includes an analysis unit configured to analyze alternative test probe routing sequences that employ representative circuit chips of a semiconductor wafer to be tested by the test unit. The routing engine also includes a selection unit configured to select at least one of the test probe routing sequences as a test probe path for testing the semiconductor wafer based on a total cost of travel for the test probe path.

  • Patent number: 7121962
Abstract: A portable handheld device for collecting and displaying golf round data. The data collected for each stroke includes the location, time and club used and the resulting ball position achieved. Locations on the golf course are determined by radiolocation. Data transfers between the handheld device and external storage are by direct connection or cellular telephone or some other wireless link. Before each drive or approach shot, player performance and course distance information are used to help the player choose the correct club. Putt break prediction is provided before putting strokes. Information that a stroke has been taken and which club was used can be entered manually by the player or sensed automatically from telemetry equipped golf clubs. Golf round data collected is used to produce play souvenirs, records and analyses. Any selected stroke in a round can also be replayed on a graphical display of the handheld device.

  • Patent number: 6933817
Abstract: A superconducting magnet assembly is described wherein the magnet cartridge is suspended within the vacuum chamber by a single support member extending from a wall of the vacuum chamber to the magnet cartridge. In one aspect, the support member includes a support tube and a joint attached to an end of the support tube. The joint is attached to the wall of the outer vacuum chamber, and provides at least one degree of freedom to the support tube relative to the wall. In another aspect, a joint is attached to an opposite end of the support tube, and is attached to the magnet cartridge for providing at least one degree of freedom to the support tube relative to the magnet cartridge. In another aspect, the support is constructed from one or more sections and the material choice is governed by the requirements for strength, stiffness, and thermal conductivity.

  • Patent number: 6872582
Abstract: A method of selective trim and wafer testing of precision integrated circuits is provided by determining if a sample die is within specification. If so the sample parameters are measured and if the die passes the sample parameters the die is good and repeat the steps of determining if the die is within specification and measuring the sample parameters until a die fails the measurement test or requires a trimming and if a die fails a measurement test or requires trimming perform 100 percent test and trim.

  • Publication number: 20040073325
Abstract: A portable handheld device for collecting and displaying golf round data. The data collected for each stroke includes the location, time, and club used and the resulting ball position achieved. Locations on the golf course are determined by radiolocation. Golf course and player past performance data are loaded into the handheld unit either by direct connection to a data source or by wireless data transfer through a cellular telephone. After a round is played the round data collected is transferred to permanent storage by a direct or wireless data link. The wireless data link can be a cellular telephone connection. The data files can be accessible via the Internet. Before each drive or approach shot player performance and course distance information are used to help the player choose the correct club. When putting the player receives information about the probable break of the putted ball from a straight line to the cup.

  • Patent number: 6487462
Abstract: This is a system to record process data only when it has changed enough to be significant to the process being controlled and monitored. Unlike conventional fixed interval data loggers it does not miss a significant event which occurs between fixed time interval data sets. Neither does it fill its memory with repetitive constant data values. The time for data recording is determined by the process behavior and not known in advance. For this reason the time at which a data set was recorded is included within it. This system has a clock calendar, non-volatile memory, microprocessor control, and data replay and display capability. Data can be replayed on the included display using simple reverse and forward buttons to sequentially scan through data records in the non-volatile memory just as if it were a tape recording. A system can be incorporated into process controls to substantially increase their utility.

  • Patent number: 6350224
Abstract: A system consisting of an accelerometer sensor attached to a centrifuge enclosure for sensing vibrations and outputting a signal in the form of a sine wave with an amplitude and frequency that is passed through a pre-amp to convert it to a voltage signal, a low pass filter for removing extraneous noise, an A/D converter and a processor and algorithm for operating on the signal, whereby the algorithm interprets the amplitude and frequency associated with the signal and once an amplitude threshold has been exceeded the algorithm begins to count cycles during a predetermined time period and if a given number of complete cycles exceeds the frequency threshold during the predetermined time period, the system shuts down the centrifuge.

  • Patent number: 5740077
Abstract: A golf round data system includes a portable data collection unit adapted to be carried by the user for displaying information to the user and for recording data concerning the golf round. Data concerning the layout of the golf course and the location of key golf course features is stored in the data collection unit internal memory. The data collection unit includes a receiver for receiving at least one external locating signal from which the user's current location on a course can be determined. A microcomputer in the data collection unit uses the external locating signal to determine a player's current location on the course and for calculating distances between the player's current location and a designated golf course feature, as the pin location. The distance calculated is displayed to the user. The data collection unit also includes input means to register each stroke taken by the user.
