  • Patent number: 10763880
Abstract: An A/D converter includes multiple bin comparators that compare an analog voltage to corresponding bin threshold voltages to provide output signals for providing corresponding comparison results. Some of the comparators includes enable inputs that selectively enable the output signal of the bin comparator to provide the corresponding comparison result based on a corresponding comparison result from at least one other bin comparator. The A/D convertor includes an encoder that utilizes the output signals to provide encoded bit values of the digital output. The A/D converter includes a bin selection circuit that utilizes the output signals to select a voltage level based on the output signals and provides the selected voltage level to a next stage of the A/D convertor. The next stage uses the selected voltage level and the analog voltage to provide at least one lessor bit of the digital output.

  • Patent number: 10700691
Abstract: A circuit includes a first external terminal, a first lower resolution analog-to-digital converter (LRADC) coupled to the external terminal and configured to perform a first conversion of an analog signal received at the external terminal to a digital value, and a higher resolution analog-to-digital converter (HRADC). The HRADC is configured to selectively receive the analog signal from the first external terminal based on the digital value. When the digital value outputted by the first LRADC indicates a change in value of the received analog signal, the HRADC is provided with the analog signal and performs a second conversion of the analog signal to a second digital value. The first LRADC has a lower conversion resolution as compared to the HRADC.

  • Patent number: 10033399
Abstract: A digital to analog converter (DAC) circuit includes pulse generator circuit for generating voltage pulses having a predetermined length and shape. The voltage pulses are used to control the generation of current pulses generated by a voltage to current converter. The voltage to current converter includes a set of switchable resistors where the resistance value provided by the set is dependent upon a digital value of a digital signal. In some embodiments, the current amplitude of the current pulses is dependent upon the resistance value and is indicative of the digital value.

  • Publication number: 20170307494
Abstract: The invention features a method for determining the worn shape of a deformable body in sliding contact with a deformable substrate. A wear depth w in an inward normal direction is determined at select points on a surface of the deformable body at each point in time t by integration of the following equation: dw d ? ? ? = kT n ? v b where k is a material dependent variable determined by physical tests, Tn is a contact pressure determined by finite element analysis of the deformable body in sliding contact with the deformable substrate at each point in time t, v is a constant sliding velocity between the deformable body and the deformable substrate, b is a constant determined by physical tests, and ?=tb is a computational time.

  • Patent number: 7364559
Abstract: The present invention provides an orthotic appliance for the carpus of a human hand for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome using co-dynamic, rather than traditional static or dynamic, techniques. The appliance may apply a 2 pound dorsally directed force about the region of the pisiform bone in the neutral carpal position of a human hand upon co-contraction of the hand and up to 8 pounds dorsally directed during arc of motion in carpal flexion, as the wrist and hand is encouraged to actively move in all planes of motion without negatively affecting the normal activities of daily living. The appliance may comprise a biasing structure for applying the dorsally directed force and a base structure for maintaining the biasing structure in its proper configuration during normal hand motion.

  • Patent number: 7018173
Abstract: A device for stopping rotation of a fixed blade bearing sector in a gas turbine casing. Sectors of synchronizing ring blades are maintained against tangential rotational movements by sliding into grooves of a casing by pins passing through perforations in an extension of the two parts. The pins are prevented from accidental removal either by a flexible lock ring or by a locking tab maintained between the two parts when they have been completely assembled.

  • Patent number: 6723061
Abstract: A method and appliance for the application of a continuous, low level force tending to oppose rotational movement of the hand about the carpus. This opposing force tends to relieve contractatures of the transverse carpal, volar carpal, and intra carpal ligaments over time, thus relieving the pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome and correcting altered kinematics associated therewith. This opposing force tends to increase the carpal volume. According to the principles of the invention, a dynamic splint appliance is described which provides free movement of the patient's wrist with minimal impediment during activities of daily living, both at home and at work, while simultaneously applying this opposing force.
