  • Publication number: 20050033296
Abstract: An assembly such as an anchor screw, bone plate, offset hook, post, transverse connector or other spinal anchor for anchoring to bone and clamping a linkage such as a rod, wire cable or the like. The assembly has a top member with an open slot to receive the linkage, and a twist-lock closure cap to close the open end, capturing the linkage in the slot. One closure cap fits over and around the top member, with a set of segmented protrusions that extend through a corresponding set of protruding flange segments spaced about the circumference of the top member. The cap is configured to rotate and lock against the top member like a flange-locking bayonet mount when turned through a limited degree of rotation.

  • Patent number: 6306028
Abstract: Apparatus for recovering meat from the head of a slaughtered animal. A jaw support clamps and supports the head by clamping the jaw. Cheek pullers having clamps engage with and hold the cheeks of the animal head in the vicinity of the mouth. A drive arrangement has a lateral drive for moving the cheek pullers outwardly away from each other and has a posterior drive for moving the cheek pullers in the posterior direction so as to pull tissues from both the jaw and the skull. A jaw separation means comprises a snout ring to be fitted to the snout of the skull and a drive moves the snout ring so as to move the skull relative to the jaw with an at least partially arcuate path of movement so as to continue to open the mouth wider as or after the cheek meat is removed from the animal head.

  • Patent number: 5530419
Abstract: An automobile anti-theft alarm has an internal air pressure sensor and an external pressure sensor and a connecting electric circuit. The internal pressure sensor is mounted inside the compartment of the automobile and is connected through the electric circuit to an alarm in such a way that when the internal pressure sensor detects a pressure change the alarm will sound. The external pressure sensor is mounted outside the compartment of the automobile. Air pressure fluctuations originating outside the vehicle compartment are transmitted by the flexure of the vehicle body into the vehicle. The electric circuit is connected to an alarm and to both the inner and external pressure sensors in such a way that external air pressure fluctuations affect both sensors and the outer pressure sensor produces a voltage in the electric circuit which prevents the alarm from being activated.
