In the preferred embodiment, the improved liquid based foaming soap formulations incorporate one or more therapeutic active in sufficient quantities to assure its efficacy. As a result, the formulation is useable for a wide variety of medical applications for preventing, treating, or reducing the spread or transmission of bacteria, virus, infections, and the like.
