  • Publication number: 20210128205
Abstract: A proximal portion of an implant for repairing a multipart fracture of a proximal humerus includes an asymmetric body having a proximal end, a distal end, a medial side, a lateral side, an anterior edge, and a posterior edge a medial surface extending along at least a portion of the medial side and having a proximal end and a distal end; a protrusion forming the lateral side of the asymmetric body, offset in an anterior direction, and pointing toward a bicipital groove of the humerus when the proximal portion is implanted in the humerus, an anterior support surface configured to support a lesser tuberosity; a posterior support surface configured to support a greater tuberosity; an angled surface having a first side defined by the medial surface, a second side defined by the anterior support surface, and a third side defmed by the posterior support surface; and an anchoring point.

  • Patent number: 10959742
Abstract: A humeral guide is provided that has a first portion or member configured to be positioned on a portion of a proximal humerus. The first portion or member can be configured to rest in a complementary manner on the portion of the proximal humerus. The humeral guide can be configured with apertures defining trajectories through bone, the pin trajectories being diverging in some case and in some cases being selected to enhanced support. A second portion or member and a third portion or member of the humeral guide are configured to be positioned on first and second lateral portions of the humerus distal to a location intended for resection, e.g., between an anatomical neck and a distal end of the humerus. The second and third portions or members or portions are configured to rest in a complementary manner on the first and second lateral portions of the humerus. The humeral guide can be configured to avoid soft tissue between a bone facing side and the humerus. The humeral guide can have a removeable jig portion.

  • Publication number: 20190175354
Abstract: A prosthesis assembly is provided that includes a base member that has a helical structure and a cylindrical member opposite the helical structure. The cylindrical member is configured for direct connection with a reverse insert of a reverse shoulder assembly. The cylindrical member is configured for direct connection with a reverse insert spacer in some embodiments. The reverse insert can be inserted into a space defined at least in part by a wall of the cylindrical member and an inferior wall of the of the base member. The helical structure extends between a first end and a second end. The base member also can include one or more pathways. The pathway(s) is accessible from the second end and is directed toward the first end through the helical structure. The pathway is located inward of an outer periphery of the helical structure, e.g., adjacent to an inner periphery of the helical structure. The pathway extends in a space between successive portions of the helical structure.

  • Publication number: 20170164961
Abstract: A coracoid drill guide including a hollow shaft for passage of a drill sleeve. The shaft is fitted with a cap having a distally-extending finger. A longitudinal axis of the finger is offset from the longitudinal axis of the shaft by a first fixed distance. The shaft is disposed within a first cannulation of sliding and rotating block that has two cannulations at a second fixed distance apart. The drill guide ensures that a first drill hole will always be placed at the first fixed distance from both the distal tip and the lateral edge of the coracoid, and that a second drill hole will always be placed at the first fixed distance from the lateral edge of the coracoid and at the second fixed distance from the first drill hole.
