  • Publication number: 20160118361
Abstract: Consistent with the present disclosure, a conductive connector element for use with a rigid or flexible insulating substrate to electrically couple first and second electrically conductive contact surfaces is provided. The conductive connector element comprises an electrically conductive deformable material and a shape-memory alloy. The conductive connector element is sized and shaped to fit in an opening provided through the insulating substrate and the shape-memory alloy and the electrically conductive deformable material are mechanically coupled such that a thermally induced deformation of the shape-memory alloy causes a mechanical deformation of the electrically conductive deformable material and thereby aids in the electrical coupling of the first and second electrically conductive contact surfaces through the connector element when the connector element is disposed in the opening provided through the insulating substrate.

  • Patent number: 8370886
Abstract: Provided is a device for use with a headend, a household and an amplifier. The headend is able to provide signals within a high-frequency band fH. The household is able to provide signals within a low-frequency band fL, and to provide signals within a super-high-frequency band fR, where fL<fH<fR. The device includes a splitter, a diplexer and a combiner. The splitter is arranged to receive the signals within the high-frequency band fH and to split the signals within the high-frequency band fH into a first signal portion within the high-frequency band fH and a second signal portion within the high-frequency band fH. The diplexer is operable to pass the second signal portion within the high-frequency band fH to the household, to pass the signals within the low-frequency band fL to the splitter and to pass the signals within the super-high-frequency band fR.
