  • Patent number: 11781475
Abstract: One embodiment is a system comprising an internal combustion engine including an output shaft, a pulley system structured to be driven by the output shaft, a first alternator and a second alternator structured to be driven by the pulley system, and an electromagnetic clutch integrated within one of the pulley system, the first alternator and the second alternator and structured to selectably couple and decouple at least one of the first alternator and the second alternator from the output shaft. The system includes a controller in operative communication with the internal combustion engine system and structured to evaluate power demand and power production capability parameters of the system and to control the electromagnetic clutch to engage or disengage in response to the evaluation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 8, 2022
Date of Patent: October 10, 2023
    Assignee: Cummins Inc.

  • Patent number: 8182113
Abstract: An accessory that can be mounted over a mailbox has a base with a pair of sidewalls that are spaced to straddle the mailbox. A frame assembly mounted on at least one of the sidewalls has one or more indicia bearing members removably attached thereto. These indicia bearing members are installed and arranged to supply address information. A light mounted at the frame assembly is powered by a power supply that has a solar powered charger for charging a battery in order to illuminate the indicia bearing members at night.

  • Publication number: 20070241925
Abstract: The invention relates to an alarm. More particularly the invention relates to an alarm for use with a door, the alarm is adapted to be retrofitted in an existing door. In large buildings, typically hospitals, offices, hotels, industrial departments or ships, where there are very many similar doors in long corridors, it is often difficult to pinpoint the location of a fire or smoke hazard in a particular room or office, from the perspective of a fireman who may be trying to locate the fire or smoke from the corridor. The invention provides an alarm having means to detect a hazard and means to indicate that a hazard has been detected, characterised in that the means to detect a hazard is located so that it is presented to an inner surface of a door and the means to indicate that a hazard has been detected is located on an outer surface of a door. Ideally a coloured indicator, which may be spring-loaded, is arranged to displace so that a person located in a corridor can identify it.

  • Patent number: 6863659
Abstract: Sharp safe hydraulic retractable syringe that is supplied with a hypodermic needle (4) fully housed within an elongated hollow barrel (2) which cannot be used until the plunger rod stop (16) has been removed and the plunger rod (1) has been pushed into the loading position to receive the required liquid into the elongated hollow barrel (2). The hydraulic retractable syringe assembly is preceded by a retractable mechanism (6-15) that is pre-assembled. The mechanism is contained by a three-legged retaining clip (11) to hold twin conical helical shape springs (14-14d) separated by a spring separation plate (15) within two spring retaining cups (12-13).
