  • Patent number: 10882648
Abstract: An extensible bearing element of a tool for sealing a bottom or a lid of a cardboard package on a body of said package has a generally polygonal shape and a cross-sectional profile. The bearing element is formed by two parallel extension sections extending along an extension direction, each connected, at one of their ends, to a bearing section. The extension sections and the bearing section define an inflation cavity. The extension sections are configured to extend along the extension direction when the bearing element is inflated. The bearing section comprises a substantially flat, free bearing surface that contacts the package body. The bearing surface extends along a plane substantially normal to the extension direction. The bearing section further comprises, at the junctions with the extension sections, beveled release portions. An inflation device comprising such an extensible bearing element is also described.

Abstract: The invention relates to an extensible bearing element (28) intended to be arranged in a tool for sealing a bottom or a lid of a cardboard package on a body of said package, with a generally polygonal shape. The extensible bearing element (28) has a cross-sectional profile comprising two parallel extension sections (36) extending along an extension direction (E), each connected, at one of their ends (36E), to a bearing section (38), such that the extension sections (36) and the bearing section (38) define an inflation cavity (30). The extension sections (36) are configured so as to extend along the extension direction (E) during the inflation. The bearing section (38) comprises a substantially flat free bearing surface (40), configured to come into contact with the package body, the bearing surface (40) extending along a plane substantially normal to the extension direction (E). The bearing section (38) further comprises, at the junctions with the extension sections (36), beveled release portions (42).

  • Patent number: 9718574
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a covering structure for a cardboard package comprising a tubular body made up a cardboard material. The covering structure comprises a flat assembly of three materials: (1) a cellulosic material covered with a reactivatable barrier material over the face thereof oriented towards a safety membrane, making up a lid cardboard, (2) a laminating part arranged between said lid cardboard and the safety membrane, with a shape conjugated to the shape of the opening of the tubular body, made from paper, or paper whereof the face oriented towards said lid cardboard is coated with a material having barrier and sealing properties, and (3) a safety membrane, made up of a paper coated with at least one reactivatable barrier material on the surface thereof not oriented towards the laminating part.

  • Publication number: 20050223680
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and an installation for making a tubular package comprising a flexible, fragile and sealed inner sleeve and an outer cardboard body provided with a precut and closed at both ends by two seals. The method for forming the sleeve consists in sealing the two longitudinal ends of the material (1) exiting from the bobbin (1) and passing through a shaping unit (3) enclosing a mandrel (4); glueing on the sleeve a cardboard (6) with a satellite device (9); cutting out the tube(s) obtained with a device (12, 13) and sealing one of the ends of the package; filling the package with the product to be packaged and sealing the other end. The resulting package is perfectly sealed and can be open by pressing on the cardboard proximate the precut of the tube thereby rupturing the sleeve and opening the package. Such type of package is designed for packaging oblong products.

  • Patent number: 6544159
Abstract: The lid is formed, on the one hand, of a ring (7) and, on the other hand, of a disk (D). The ring (A) comes from a strip cut parallel to the fibers of a fibrous rigid material. Having formed the ring (A) using a two-stage tool, the disk (D) is pressed on the ring (A) and the skirt (L′) is bonded onto the ring (A). A nesting profile and a catch (3′) in the form of a groove open toward the interior are formed. The lid fits onto a container (R) with a rolled edge (O).

  • Patent number: 5778639
Abstract: The process relates to the fitting of a bottom of a package formed from a tubular body (1) of non-round section. The open end of the body (1) is inserted between two fixed opposed jaws (M1, M2). Since the distance between the jaws (M1, M2) is less than the distance between the clamped portions (2, 3), the portions (4, 5) which are not clamped deform. Thus, when fitting the bottom, the air escapes and by applying a clamping force to the side walls of the package (1), some of the air still in the body (1) is evacuated before sealing.

  • Patent number: 5566529
Abstract: After manufacturing, by known means, a tubular body (30), the successive drawing of two pieces is carried out in order to form two cups (50, 70). Two cups (50, 70) are simultaneously inserted into the body (30) with the drawing tool and their lateral parts (51, 71) are joined to the inner face of the body (30). The prescoring (32) and grooving (33) of the lid are then carried out. Next the end of the body (30) is folded over in order to form a seam (35), thus completing the lid. After filling the body, a bottom comprising two cups (50', 70') and a seam (35') are installed, as previously. The body (30) and the external cups (50, 50) are made of the same rigid material. This type of package is intended equally well for packaging chemicals, foodstuffs and other industrial products.

  • Patent number: 4693149
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for the automatic cutting of circular tubes of small, medium and large thickness, obtained by gluing together several strips of fibrous, cellulose, metallic, or plastic materials, and generally speaking any materials in strips, and made by using a spiralizer, a profiler or an extruder. This device for automatic cutting is characterized by the fact that it comprises a fixed mandrel (2) on which the circular tube (4) coming from the spiralizer, profiler or extruder turns freely and is driven without constraint either side of the cutting line by counter-rollers (8, 9) subject to a rotary movement synchronized with the speed of rotation of the circular tube (4), this fixed mandrel (2) cooperating for the cut with at least one cutting group provided with a knife milled with two bevelled edges which are very sharp (43) which is immobile in rotation at the moment of cutting. The invention concerns disposable packs.

  • Patent number: 4474564
Abstract: In a machine for forming a continuous tube which is then cut up into sections, for example to make containers, a plurality of bands of fibrous, cellulosic, metallic, plastic or other material are drawn from supply reels and pass through a gluing and labelling section where adhesive is applied to one side of the bands and labels are applied to the outer face of the center band. After application of the adhesive and labels, the bands, while continuing to move forwardly, are assembled in superposed relation with the bands laterally displaced relative to one another so that the edges of the assembly of bands are stepped. The bands are pressed together in a narrow central width only so as to bond central portions together while leaving side portions unbonded.

  • Patent number: 4353764
Abstract: The invention relates to a process of forming profiles, especially tubular profiles obtained by gluing a plurality of bands of fibrous, cellulosic, metallic, plastic and other materials offset laterally relative to one another and being initially joined in an area of small width, the area of joining then being extended by a helicoidal progression to the entire perimeter of the tubular profile.

  • Patent number: 4163429
Abstract: In apparatus for applying fluid adhesive to strips to be wound helically to form a tube, the strips are led over a tank in step-wise configuration with successive strips laterally and vertically offset relative to one another but overlapping so that an upper strip partially overlaps the next lower strip. Liquid adhesive pumped from the tank is delivered onto the uppermost strip which then passes through scrapers which scrape surplus adhesive off the strips so that at least part of the surplus flows off a lateral edge of the uppermost strip onto the next lower strip. If there are more than two strips, the process is repeated so that surplus adhesive is flowed at least in part from each strip to the next lower strip. Any surplus not retained by the strips flows back to the tank.
