    Abstract: A power driven drum beater is controlled by means of a foot pedal. The pedal device serves to close an electrical circuit for the actuation of a pivoted solenoid actuated beater mounted on a rod. The foot pedal is further pivotable enabling an electrical contact on the underside thereof to be brought into a desired position along a resistance selector for driving the beater with variable speed or intensity and at a variable rate.
