Abstract: Suggested is a process for obtaining a carbon black composition preferably of low porosity, comprising or consisting of the following steps: (A) subjecting a hydrocarbon raw material into a high temperature combustion gas stream in order to achieve thermochemical decomposition, (B) cooling the reaction gases and (C) recovering of the carbon black thus obtained, wherein said combustion gas stream consists of at least one oxidant and at least one fuel component, and at least a part of said oxidant and/or said fuel component is subjected to an electrical pre-heating step before it is introduced into the pre-combustion chamber to form a high temperature combustion gas stream.
