  • Patent number: 5908157
Abstract: A portable control system for use with conventional sprinklers including a portable housing. Further included is a plurality of interconnections positioned within the housing for allowing interconnection between an inflow hose and a plurality of outflow hoses. A plurality of valves is connected to the interconnection for allowing the passage of fluid upon the activation thereof. A control panel is situated within the housing and connected to the valves. The control panel is connected to a rain level detector and is adapted to allow selective actuation and deactivation of each valve mechanism at a designated time as a function of the amount of rain received by the rain level detector. A fertilizer mechanism is connected to the interconnections for allowing the supply of fertilizer to the fluid passing between the garden inflow hose and the garden outflow hoses.

  • Patent number: 5874892
Abstract: A vehicle warning system for vehicles comprising a pressure activated switch disposed within the steering wheel for activating a transmitter when more than normal pressure is applied to the steering wheel. The vehicle warning system further comprises a warning unit which contains a receiver, a sound generator, and a warning lights. When a driver is faced with a potentially dangerous situation and instinctively grips the steering wheel harder, this causes the vehicle warning system to transmit rf signals to the receiver in the warning unit of the initiating vehicle as well as the receivers in the warning units of other vehicles within a predetermined distance. The transmitted signal causes the warning light to flash and warning sound to be generated from the warning unit in each of the vehicles receiving the transmitted signal.

  • Patent number: 5423689
Abstract: A safety shield for an electric plug includes a plate member adapted to be held secure against the base of the electric plug with the prongs of the plug extending through complementary openings in the plate member. The plate member carries rotatably a flexible cage member surrounding the prongs of the electric plug, and the cage member is collapsible. In this way as the prongs are inserted into the electric outlet, the cage will collapse to permit insertion, and as the plug is withdrawn from the electric outlet, the cage member will return to its original shape to guard against inadvertent contact with the electrical prongs. The cage member includes a bar element which in one position of the cage member will lie across the tips of the prongs to prevent insertion into an electric outlet, and the cage member can be rotated to position the bar element between the prongs of the plug to enable the plug to be inserted into an electric outlet.

  • Patent number: 5395276
Abstract: An aerial toy includes a balloon adapted to be filled with a lighter-than-air gas and a pinwheel connected to a lower portion of the balloon. A string is connected between the upper and lower portions of the toy, and a light weight string can be connected to a lower portion of the balloon. A string is connected between the upper and lower portions of the toy, and a light weight string can be connected to this string to enable the inflated balloon to rise upwardly with the attached pinwheel by letting out the light weight string. The light weight string is attached to an upper portion of the toy so that when the light weight string is tugged, the toy tilts forwardly to produce a stable lifting effect. An adaptor for connecting the pinwheel to the balloon is formed of two elements, with the first element receiving the centered balloon with its filling stem extending through a hollow cylindrical member having a slot in its lower portion.

  • Patent number: 4869005
Abstract: A novelty device for representing an outdoor scene includes an outer portion configured to resemble the interior of a room and having an opening which may represent a door or a window for viewing the outdoor scene. An inner portion is positioned behind this opening, and the inner portion contains artwork representing the outdoor scene and a fluid containing particles adapted to be spread throughout the fluid. In this way, the inner portion can be shaken to spread the particles throughout the fluid so that they may settle by gravity to resemble falling objects such as snow or autumn leaves traditionally found in the outdoors. The inner piece may be divided into two compartments which represent different seasons of the same outdoor scene and, in this way, the inner piece can be removed with either of its scenes positioned behind the opening to illustrate either of two outdoor scenes.
