  • Patent number: 11942606
Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous electrolyte for use in rechargeable zinc-halide storage batteries that possesses improved stability and durability and improves zinc-halide battery performance (e.g., energy efficiency, Coulombic efficiency, and/or the like). One aspect of the present invention provides an electrolyte for use in a secondary zinc bromine electrochemical cell comprising from about 30 wt % to about 40 wt % of ZnBr2 by weight of the electrolyte; from about 5 wt % to about 15 wt % of KBr; from about 5 wt % to about 15 wt % of KCl; and one or more quaternary ammonium agents, wherein the electrolyte comprises from about 0.5 wt % to about 10 wt % of the one or more quaternary ammonium agents.

  • Publication number: 20240097205
Abstract: Provided is a terminal assembly for an electrochemical battery comprising a terminal connector; a conductive flat-plate with an electrically conducting perimeter; an electrically insulating tape member; and a terminal bipolar electrode plate. The electrically insulating tape member is in between the conductive flat-plate and the terminal bipolar electrode plate such that the electrically insulating tape member does not cover the entire surface area of the conductive flat-plate. The electrically conducting perimeter enables bi-directional uniform current flow through the conductive flat-plate between the terminal connector and the terminal bipolar electrode plate. Also provided is a battery frame member for a static rechargeable battery comprising a liquid diversion system; a gutter; a sealing member; a gas channel; and a ventilation hole.

  • Patent number: 5940669
Abstract: A printer is disclosed and which includes a frame; a movable lifting member borne by the frame; a rotatable pressure drum borne by the frame; a rotatable fusing drum borne by the lifting member; a rotatable image drum borne by the frame and positioned in contact with the fusing drum; an articulation assembly pivotally borne by the frame and movable along a course of travel, the lifting arm engaging the articulation assembly, and wherein movement of the articulation assembly imparts movement to the lifting arm, the lifting arm carrying the fusing drum along a course of travel into, and out of, contact with pressure drum; and an image forming assembly borne by the frame oriented adjacent to the image drum.

  • Patent number: 5129745
Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer printer ribbon cartridge for a printer having multiple print heads positioned at preset spaced distances on a reciporcating print head carriage. The printer ribbon cartridge (50) has a cartridge housing (52) for mounting on the print head carriage. A print ribbon (54) is mounted in the cartridge housing (52) and has an exposed print section which extends in front of the multiple print heads (102a, 102b, 102c). Multiple ribbon guides (62a, 62b, 62c) are slidably coupled on the exposed print section of the print ribbon (54) and, when coupled to the print heads, the ribbon guides guide the print ribbon over the printing face of the print heads.

  • Patent number: 4737043
Abstract: An impact mechanism for an improved serial impact printer for delivering a printing force to drive a character element against a platen by means of a print tip movable toward and away from the platen. The print tip is supported upon a carriage mounted upon the printer for reciprocating movement in a path substantially parallel to the axis of the platen. The impact mechanism includes a bail bar extending substantially across the printer and mounted for rocking movement toward and away from the platen, its axis of rocking being substantially parallel to the axis of the platen. A prime mover is connected to the bail bar for imparting controlled rocking movement thereto. The print tip and the bail bar are interconnected so as to move the print tip toward and away from the platen as the bail bar is rocked.

  • Patent number: 4678355
Abstract: An impacting element for an impact printer having a platen, selectable character elements and means for driving the impacting element to impart a printing force to a selected character element, to drive it against said platen for a contact period, the impacting element including a sensor thereon for generating a signal indicative of the initiation of the contact period.

  • Patent number: 4162774
Abstract: A tape cartridge of the belt drive type, wherein an elastomeric member is coupled to the drive belt to be continually deformed by the drive belt, so that hysteresis energy losses in the elastic member create drag on the drive belt. In one cartridge, the belt guide rollers, about which the belt extends, have rubber-like cores. In a second cartridge, a thick rubber-like auxiliary belt extends around the belt guide rollers so that the auxiliary belt is driven by the drive belt as it rotates the guide rollers. In a third cartridge, a rubber-like auxiliary roller presses against a belt guide roller.

  • Patent number: 4120012
Abstract: Magnetic recording media called diskettes comprise a flexible magnetic disk which is enclosed in a jacket. The jacket has at least two openings therethrough. One of them is at the center on each side to enable the diskette to be engaged by a hub for rotating it, the other two are at opposite sides and comprise elliptic shaped openings which afford access for the reading head and for the pressure pad to opposite surfaces of a diskette. This invention provides doors which automatically cover the head and pressure pad access openings, except when a diskette is inserted into the reading mechanism at which time the door is automatically opened to enable the indicated access to the disk surfaces.
