  • Patent number: 5155962
Abstract: A ceiling runner comprised of an elongated generally U-shaped channel member having longitudinally spaced openings in its web, each with one end portion shaped and sized to confine a transversely arranged upright C-stud therein. The remainder of the opening is of such size and shape as to permit the C-stud to be initially inserted therethrough with the web of its cross-section extending longitudinally of the web of the channel member and to be thereafter twisted about its longitudinal axis to a relatively transverse position to snap into place within said end portion, the web of the channel member having a retaining tab at one side and a detent and camming surface at the opposite side of the opening to cause the C-stud to flex sufficiently to snap into said end portion and to retain the C-stud within said end portion once it has snapped into place.

  • Patent number: 4951436
Abstract: A ceiling runner is disclosed that includes a ceiling portion and a depending portion formed in a U-shaped cross section with a pair of upstanding leg elements interconnected with a web portion and on the opposite end of the leg portion, edge portions extending away from each other an amount equal to the width of a margin on each side of the runner. Another version of the runner has the edge portions tipped over so that they cap the upper end of the vertical wallboard panels and provide a finishing touch around the periphery of the room. A plurality of cut-out portions are formed in the web portion with 8" centers for use in 16" or 24" spacing of studs and to accommodate unevenly cut studs that extend upwardly through the cut-out portions.

  • Patent number: 4807719
Abstract: Apparatus for ascending scaffolding (10). The apparatus includes a ladder (24) having an inner upright (26) which is pivotally mounted with respect to an upright (20) of an end frame (12) of the scaffolding (10). The ladder (24) is disposed for pivoting between a retracted position, wherein the latter (24) overlies the end frame (12) of the scaffolding (10) to which it is attached, and an extended position, wherein the ladder (24) is pivoted, typically, 180.degree. relative to the retracted position.
