  • Patent number: 9023182
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for making an enantiomeric organic compound having a high amount of enantiomer excesses including the steps of a) providing an aqueous solution including an initial reactant and a catalyst; and b) subjecting said aqueous solution simultaneously to a magnetic field and photolysis radiation such that said photolysis radiation produces light rays that run substantially parallel or anti-parallel to the magnetic field passing through said aqueous solution, wherein said catalyst reacts with said initial reactant to form the enantiomeric organic compound having a high amount of enantiomer excesses.

  • Patent number: 4356927
Abstract: A beverage can and a pop-up straw installed therein, together with a beverage; the straw, at one end, resting on the can bottom wall, and, at its other end, bearing against an underside of a tab on the can top wall.

  • Patent number: 4287759
Abstract: An improved load line sensor comprised of a support frame which clamps to the load line, a sensing unit fixed to the support frame, and a pivotal load line operator attached to the support frame in a close spaced relation to the clamping end thereof. The load line which is threaded through the pivotal operator is slightly deformed thereby so that line tension imparts a torque to the operator which reacts against the load sensing unit fixed to the support frame. The load line operator preferably has roller contacts wherein the pivoting and roller action of the operator minimizes the frictional influences which impair the operation of conventional devices.

  • Patent number: 4242359
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for treating mammalian spermatozoa with amphipathic amines in order to induce loss of fertility and/or head-tail cleavage of the sperms under mild physiological conditions. In the presence of primary alkyl or cycloalkyl amines containing between 4 to 7 carbon atoms at concentrations of about 15 .lambda./ml, sperms are rapidly dissociated into heads and tails under physiological pH- and temperature-conditions. Further disclosed are topical contraceptive compositions containing amphipathic amines.

  • Patent number: 3945503
Abstract: A variable centers rope suspension system for a gantry crane including a pair of trolleys mounted on the crane and interconnected by a frame which reciprocates the trolleys with respect to each other. The trolleys are moved synchronously along the gantry through the drive cables being connected to the frame.
