  • Patent number: 6027597
Abstract: A method of producing a single unit phone card assembly including providing sheets of material including a primary sheet, a secondary sheet, and an overlaminating sheet; printing information on the primary sheet; applying a coating of release agent on a face side of the primary sheet; applying a coating of varnish on a rear side of the primary sheet; applying a layer of adhesive on a face side of the secondary sheet; laminating the rear side of the primary to the face side of the secondary sheet using the adhesive layer; cutting the primary sheet after lamination of the primary and secondary sheets; laminating the overlaminating sheet to the primary sheet such that the overlaminating sheet contacts the release agent; cutting the laminated primary, secondary, and overlaminating sheets to form the single unit phone card assembly and to form excess material; applying functional perforations to the assembly; and stripping the excess material from the assembly.

  • Patent number: 5785355
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a card structure which is a single unit phone card assembly which provides an area to provide variable information which will maintain the variable information in a hidden area until the information is exposed by the removal of an overlamination and allow the card to be detached to be used as a phone card. The phone card is comprised of two layers of material upon which a variable image printed message is applied. A pattern of silicone is positioned on the face of the top sheet and a pattern of varnish is positioned on the bottom of the top sheet. Adhesive is then used on the face of the base sheet and the sheets are slit and crossed over and laminated together. A series of die cuts and laminations are done to finish the card and extra material is stripped away. In use, the consumer will receive the card as a single unit and peel away the overlamination in order to remove the card to reveal the necessary information to make the telephone call.

  • Patent number: 5738383
Abstract: The label assembly with patterned adhesive bands is designed to provide a label which permits the cutting of the labels in a manner which will keep the cutting device free from adhesive or other materials that would foul up and jam the cutting device itself. The label assembly consists of a strip of material upon which the front side is printed upon. The rear side of the strip has an application of adhesive which results in a strip without any adhesive between each label or a pattern of alternating adhesive and non adhesive bands. No back liner is provided. The label assembly is used in creating a label on demand in conjunction with scales for meat, poultry and fish among other items.

  • Patent number: 5691437
Abstract: The adhesive label assembly having a specific internal adhesive pattern is designed to provide a label comprising two separate strips, each of which has an external side which contains a pre-determined printed message. The top portion of the assembly is fused together. One of the two internal sides has a specific alternating pattern of adhesive and non adhesive sections. The opposite internal side has no adhesive sections thereon and is silicone coated. A solid adhesive strip is located at one end of the internal side having the adhesive pattern which allows ease of banding together and opening of the two strips. Alternative embodiments of the assembly comprise a label having a fold at the end of the label opposite the fused end which will allow ease of attachment of the assembly. The folded portion has adhesive on its internal side to facilitate sealing.

  • Patent number: 5618064
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a label structure which is a combination packing slip and shipping label for use on a package. The packing slip has a front side having an area onto which the destination of the package and a description of items to be contained in the package can be printed. The shipping label, which is preferably substantially transparent, has a top side and a bottom side. The bottom side preferably has an adhesive coating adhered thereto. The shipping label is removably attached to the back side of the packing slip until it is ready for use. In order to facilitate the removal of the shipping label from the back side of the packing slip, a layer having a substantially smooth surface is preferably adhered to the back side of the packing slip. In use, the destination of the package and the contents to be packed therein are preferably transcribed on the front side of the packing slip.
