  • Publication number: 20020026404
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and method of displaying trading trends for an investment wherein an opening value and a closing value for the investment for two or more time intervals is received. An opening value trend using a market trend indicator and the opening values for the investment is calculated, and a closing value trend using the market trend indicator and the closing values for the investment is calculated. A visual indicator comparing the opening value trend to the closing value trend for the investment is then displayed. This method may be incorporated into a computer program embodied in a computer readable medium using code segments to accomplish the method described above.

  • Patent number: 6113268
Abstract: A carrying case is provided including a base with an open top. Also included is a top assembly have a top face with a downwardly extending peripheral lip integrally coupled thereto and depending therefrom for defining an interior space and an open bottom with a lower peripheral edge. The lower peripheral edge of the top assembly is hingably coupled to the base. The top assembly further includes a cover for selectively closing the interior space thereof.

  • Patent number: 5991722
Abstract: A speech synthesis system for receiving input information from navigational equipment and for producing selected audio output signals associated with the input information. The system includes a receiver for receiving input information from the navigational equipment, a temporary storage unit for storing at least a portion of the input information, a permanent storage unit for storing predetermined audio output information associated with portions of the input information, a control unit and an output signal generating unit. The control unit is in communication with the receiver and the temporary and permanent storage units. The control unit selects the predetermined audio output information within the permanent storage unit associated with portions of the input information. The output signal generating unit is in communication with the control unit for producing an output signal responsive to the predetermined audio output information.

  • Patent number: 5521983
Abstract: A speaker system for use in a high background noise environments is disclosed. The system receives an input electrical signal and produces an output sound signal predominantly within a predetermined frequency range different than the frequency range of the background noise. The system includes a bandpass filter for frequency filtering the input signal, and an audio transducer for receiving the filtered signal and producing the output sound signal. The audio transducer produces output sound signals predominantly within the predetermined frequency range.

  • Patent number: 4013954
Abstract: A speed sensor for an adaptive braking system is disclosed. The sensor is enclosed in a housing, so that all critical adjustments may be made at the time the sensor is manufactured and not when the sensor is installed on the vehicle. The entire sensor package is small enough to be mounted within the tubular axle used on many relatively large vehicles, such as semi-trailers, which are in use today. A driving connection is provided between the speed sensor and the hub cap of the vehicle, which of course, rotates with the corresponding vehicle wheel.

  • Patent number: 4008821
Abstract: This disclosure relates to the formation of a can body having at least one necked-in end portion wherein at least the end portion of the can body is of a lapped construction with a deformable bonding material therein. It is customary to neck-in ends of can bodies utilizing a necking die with a floating center post. The clearance in such die construction takes into consideration the extra thickness of the side seam. It is now proposed to make the clearance between the die ring and the center post such that when the necking in occurs, the side seam will be compressed, thereby assuring side seam end portions of a uniform thickness. It is also proposed to effect a reduction in the thickness of the deformable bonding material which will provide increased seam strength, better creep resistance, and last, but not least, superior double seaming latitude because of uniformity and consistency of dimensions.
