  • Patent number: 7647768
Abstract: An automatic transmission consisting of a housing to support multiple torque converters in series with each other. The housing is used to align the converters, direct the output of the first converter to the second and so on. The housing also provides paths for the fluid to enter and leave the converter and to operate the lock-up feature of each converter. The output of each torque converter turbine is fed to the next torque converter so that the next converter can further act on the ratio as needed until the final output is fed to a gear set to provide a reverse gear or locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7104518
Abstract: A ready method to disconnect the motive power of an actuator from the input of a valve. A handle is inserted onto the coupling held in the housing, disconnecting the motive power of the actuator and engaging the driven piece connected to the input shaft of the valve. With this handle in place, manual control of the valve is attained and the handle indicates position. The housing can be orientated so that the handle can be inline with the valve action as normally done on manually operated valves. The position of the valve may be fixed by locking the handle to the housing, removing automatic control of the valve. When the handle is removed from the coupling, normal automatic operation is restored. The handle may store at the valve for ready use by maintenance or in a secure location to prevent unauthorized use.

  • Patent number: 5724241
Abstract: A distributed seismic data acquisition system includes a vast plurality of Autonomous Data Acquisition Modules (ADAM) to each of which are interconnected a subplurality of data-collection channels. Each data collection channel is comprised of an array of seismic sensors for continuously measuring seismic signals. The ADAMs include a GPS satellite receiver for providing geographic coordinates and system clock. Measured seismic signals are quantized and continuously downloaded to the respective interconnected ADAMs from the data-collection channels. The system includes both field testing capability as well means for transmitting the results of self tests. Provision is made for servicing the ADAMs at the end of a multi-day recording session and for harvesting and cataloging the recorded data. The seismic signals gathered by use of the distributed data-gathering system may be processed to provide a subsurface earth model.

  • Patent number: 4056163
Abstract: An accelerometer located on the pad of a vibratory seismic source provides a signal for comparison with the sweep signal which controls the vibrator. The error function representing the difference between the phases of these two signals is used to adjust the phase of the vibrator so as to maintain the vibrator in synchronism with the sweep signal. Prior to comparison with the sweep signal, the accelerometer output is conditioned by a tracking bandpass filter having its center frequency slaved to the instantaneous sweep frequency. Those components of the accelerometer output signal having a frequency equal to the instantaneous sweep frequency are passed by the bandpass filter and are subjected to approximately 0.degree. phase shift through the filter.
