  • Publication number: 20250146083
Abstract: Identifying a fibroblast subtype in a thyroid cancer involves obtaining a fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy sample from a subject, the sample including nucleic acids; assaying the nucleic acids in the sample for an increase in the amount of mRNA produced by genes of a fibroblast gene signature relative to a control level of mRNA produced by the genes in a sample obtained from a healthy subject; and identifying the fibroblast subtype if there is an increase in the amount of mRNA in the sample relative to the control level.

  • Patent number: 11822548
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for improving performance for retrieving and reporting information from a data warehouse. A query (e.g., SQL query) is received. If a materialized view is present, and if such a materialized view was generated within the designated time frame, then the query is translated to query a materialized view. The translated query is then sent to a first data storage database of the data warehouse storing materialized views to be processed to obtain the materialized object associated with the query. If, on the other hand, the materialized view is not present, or the materialized view is present but has not been generated within the designated time frame, then the query is sent to the second data storage database of the data warehouse storing the original data without any modification to retrieve and report the appropriate information from the second data storage database.

  • Patent number: 11789845
Abstract: Using a code transformation tool, a portion of executable code is inserted into existing executable code, the existing executable code comprising an existing constructor of a class, the existing constructor, when executed, instantiating an object of the class. During execution of the existing constructor, execution of the portion is caused to occur, the execution generating a record, the record comprising execution tracing data of the object.

  • Publication number: 20230065196
Abstract: In one embodiment, there is provided a method of optimizing image quality and organ dose for computed tomography (CT). The method includes segmenting, by an organ segmentation module, at least one organ based, at least in part, on patient image data. The method further includes determining, by a Monte Carlo dose module, a patient-specific heterogeneous dose based, at least in part, on the patient image data and based, at least in part, on a selected CT scanner data. The method further includes determining, by a patient-specific organ dose module, a patient-specific nominal organ dose for each segmented organ based, at least in part, on the patient-specific heterogeneous dose. The method further includes determining, by an inverse optimization module, at least one CT scanner parameter configured to optimize image quality and a selected patient-specific organ dose of at least one selected organ.

  • Patent number: 11303728
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for parallel and scalable processing of messages containing telemetry data at an administrator system. The administrator system can receive a large number of messages containing telemetry data from many dispenser machines in a short amount of time. To receive and process those messages, the systems and methods of the present disclosure provide a message queuer to queue the messages (or at least the telemetry data in the messages) in a plurality of queues and a different thread or process for each of the plurality of queues. Each thread or process can pull messages out of its assigned queue in order and process the telemetry data of the messages. The threads or processes can run on one or more central processing unit cores at the administrator system. This setup allows for horizontal scaling in terms of message processing throughput.

  • Patent number: 10313316
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for securely providing telemetry data of a dispenser machine to an administrator system via an exposed web service over a computer network. To secure the exposed web service, the systems and methods of the present disclosure provide secure gateways at the dispenser machine and the administrator system that can provide one or more of message integrity, authentication, authorization, and confidentiality. The secure gateways are implemented separate from the applications creating web service request and response messages at the dispenser machine and the administrator system, respectively. Because the secure gateways are implemented separate from the applications creating the web service request and response messages, the applications creating the web service request and response messages can be created and modified without consideration to message security, which is handled transparently by the secure gateways.

  • Patent number: 6734974
Abstract: A method of improving spatial resolution of a pump-probe terahertz (THz) imaging system for producing an image of an object. The method provides a chopped optical gating beam focused on a semiconductive layer that is either part of the object or a discrete layer placed over the object. The gating beam is focused on a gating pulse focal spot having a diameter effective to cause measurable modulation in transmission of a THz beam through the semiconductive layer when the gating pulse is on as compared to when the gating pulse is off, creating alternating modulated THz beams for detection and processing. Systems for performing the method in transmission and reflection modes are also described.

  • Patent number: 6518579
Abstract: A non-destructive method and apparatus which is based on in-situ gamma spectroscopy is used to determine the depth of radiological contamination in media such as concrete. An algorithm, Gamma Penetration Depth Unfolding Algorithm (GPDUA), uses point kernel techniques to predict the depth of contamination based on the results of uncollided peak information from the in-situ gamma spectroscopy. The invention is better, faster, safer, and/cheaper than the current practice in decontamination and decommissioning of facilities that are slow, rough and unsafe. The invention uses a priori knowledge of the contaminant source distribution. The applicable radiological contaminants of interest are any isotopes that emit two or more gamma rays per disintegration or isotopes that emit a single gamma ray but have gamma-emitting progeny in secular equilibrium with its parent (e.g., 60Co, 235U, and 137Cs to name a few).

  • Patent number: RE40434
Abstract: An antenna for receiving electromagnetic signals comprises: a ground plane with a length and having a vertical axis along the length. A plurality of dipole radiating elements, the radiating elements are comprised of first and second co-located, orthogonal dipoles, the dipoles are aligned at first and second predetermined angles with respect to the vertical axis, the radiating elements and ground plane produce first electromagnetic fields in response to said electromagnetic signals. A plurality of supports, the supports are connected to the ground plane and perpendicular to the vertical axis and placed between selected of the plurality of dipole radiating elements. A plurality of metallic parasitic elements are placed in a selected of said plurality of supports, the first electromagnetic fields exiciting currents in said metallic parasitic elements, the currents creating second electromagnetic fields, the second electromagnetic fields canceling with portions of the first electromagnetic fields.
