  • Publication number: 20110220483
Abstract: The invention describes a global method for extracting sterols, vitamin E, squalene and other vegetable hydrocarbons from deodorization distillates of vegetable oils. After esterification of the free fatty acids, followed by trans-esterification of the combined fatty acids (glycerides and sterides) with the same short alcohol, three successive distillations allow successive recovery of a first fraction of the hydrocarbons, the main fraction of alkyl esters, and then the heaviest alkyl esters with squalene. The third distillate will be used for producing squalene and a second fraction of hydrocarbons. The residue of the third distillation will be used for producing sterols and vitamin E. By using bio-ethanol, vegetable glycerol and the vegetable hydrocarbons of the method, with the method it is possible to extract each of the four unsaponifiables without any solvent of petroleum origin and claim the labels of products obtained by natural physical and chemical methods.

  • Publication number: 20040037859
Abstract: The present invention concerns a formulation comprising non-greasy emollients based on wax-esters the constituents of which have a molecular weight of less than 600 Daltons, preferably less than 450 Daltons, comprising:

  • Patent number: 6596886
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing non-oily emollients with a molecular weight below about 600 Dalton, preferably below 550 Dalton, and still more preferably below about 450 Dalton, based on alcohol and fatty acid esters (wax-esters), which consists of the following steps: a) interesterification of the triglycerides contained in a fatty material by a primary alcohol, in the presence of a catalyst; b) elimination of the catalyst; c) distillation of the residual alcohol preferably in the presence of a bleaching agent followed by elimination of the bleaching agent; d1) either frigelisation of the preferably bleached residue such that residual glycerides are at least partially crystallized, followed by elimination of said crystallized residual glycerides, d2) or hydrogenation of the residue, preferably bleached.

  • Patent number: 4038295
Abstract: Highly unsaturated oils of vegetable or animal origin are selectively hydenated to less highly unsaturated oils using a catalytic composition obtained by dissolving a compound of a metal selected from the IB, IV B to VII B or VIII groups in an unsaturated oil and then adding thereto an organic derivative or hydride of a metal from groups I A, II A, II B or III A, in the absence of a stabilizing solvent.
