  • Patent number: 4996029
Abstract: The heat-exchanger reactor comprises a cylindrical metal containment (1) intended for receiving a chemical substance, this containment (1) having passing axially through it a metal tube (2) intended for the circulation of a heat-exchange fluid. The tube (2) possesses radial fins (3) extending substantially over the entire height of the cylindrical containment (1) and over the entire radial distance between the tube (2) and the inner lateral face of the cylindrical containment (1). The invention is used particularly in devices for the generation of cold or heat by solid/gas reaction.

    Assignee: Faiveley Entreprises
    Inventors: Frederic Martin, Georges Crozat
  • Patent number: 4976117
Abstract: The device comprises at least two reactors (R1, R2) containing the same solid compound, communication circuits between these reactors, the evaporator (E), the condenser (C) and the gas collector (Co) and means are provided for successively starting the solid-gas reactions in the two reactors and for producing the openings and closings of the various communication circuits in a predetermined order to obtain a continuous production of cold.

    Inventors: Georges Crozat, Michel Lebrun
  • Patent number: 4944159
Abstract: A device for producing cold between +10.degree. C. and -40.degree. C., particularly in transport vehicles comprises at least one reactor (R), a condenser (C), a gas collector (Co) and an evaporator (E). The following simultaneous reactions are produced in the reactor (R): ##EQU1## the symbols < >; [ ] and ( ) denoting the solid, liquid and gaseous states respectively, X being chosen from ZnCl.sub.2, CuSO.sub.4, CuCl, LiBr, LiCl, ZnSO.sub.4, SrCl.sub.2, MnCl.sub.2, FeCl.sub.2, MgCl.sub.2, CaCl.sub.2, and NiCl.sub.

  • Patent number: 4595774
Abstract: The invention has for its object an improved method of performing gas-solid reactions. The method is characterized in that there is added expanded graphite of a volumetric mass between 0.001 and 0.02 g/cm.sup.3 to the reactive medium and in such quantity that it constitutes from 1 to 60% of the quantity of reactant solid present in the medium. The method makes it possible to improve the rate of the gas-solid reactions, as well as their stoichiometric characteristics, particularly in the case of reversible reactions.
