Patent number: 12271529Abstract: In some aspects, an electronic device may display a keyboard user interface on a touchscreen display panel. The electronic device may detect a key press interaction with the keyboard user interface. The electronic device may trigger one or more haptic actuators to generate a vibration waveform associated with a haptic pattern that is based at least in part on a context associated with the key press interaction. Numerous other aspects are described.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2024Date of Patent: April 8, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Sandeep Louis D'Souza, Raj Kumar, Deepak Rajendra Karnik, Reid Westburg, Krishna Buska, William Scofield, George Issa Saman, Seong Jun Ma, Hui-Ya Liao Nelson, Eddie Choy, Livingstone Song, Louis Dominic Oliveira

Patent number: 12242670Abstract: Audio and haptic signal processing systems and methods are provided. There is provided a method for haptic drive signal generation. The method comprises receiving an input audio signal for driving an audio speaker. The method further comprises deriving, from the audio signal, data components indicative of behaviour of the audio speaker when being driven by the input audio signal, each data component being associated with a respective frequency range. The method further comprises determining a haptic drive component from each data component. A gain is selected to provide to each of the haptic drive components, the gain being selected for each respective frequency range. Each selected gain is applied to the respective haptic drive component to produce gain adjusted haptic drive components.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2022Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Shreyas Srikanth Payal, Sandeep Louis D'Souza, Reid Westburg, William Scofield, George Issa Saman, Hui-Ya Liao Nelson, Hocine Merabti, Matthew Zivney, Eddie Choy, Louis Dominic Oliveira

Patent number: 10690219Abstract: A flexplate assembly comprising a central plate having a general disc shape disposed about and extending radially from an axis. The central plate has a first radial width. A ring gear is annularly secured about the central plate and presents an outer circumference that defines a plurality of ring teeth extending therefrom. At least one noise plate is disposed adjacent to the central plate and extends circumferentially about the axis for reducing vibrations and noise from the flexplate assembly. The noise plate has a second radial width that is at least one half of the first radial width of the central plate. A method of constructing such a flexplate assembly is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2018Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: MAGNA POWERTRAIN, INC.Inventors: Andrzej Kowalski, Gunter R. Ladewig, Georges Issa, Dusan Milacic

Patent number: 10060503Abstract: A reduced noise flexplate assembly and method of construction is provided. The assembly includes a central plate that is generally disc shaped and extends radially from an axis. A ring gear is disposed annularly about the central plate and presents a plurality of ring teeth that extend radially therefrom for engaging a pinion gear coupled to a starter of an automobile. A noise plate is attached to the central plate with a plurality of plate fasteners and extends circumferentially about the axis. The noise plate includes a flange and a lower lip extending generally axially and radially outwardly from the inside flange to a maximum deflection zone adjacent to the ring teeth of the ring gear. The noise plate is frictionally engaged with and slideably moveable relative to the central plate and/or ring gear to reduce noise and reduce vibrations during starting of the automobile by converting friction into heat.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2015Date of Patent: August 28, 2018Assignee: MAGNA POWERTRAIN, INC.Inventors: Andrzej Kowalski, Gunter R.
