    Abstract: Method for applying a thin film of a high viscosity liquid to a moving surface by means of an inking roller having a flexible outer cover and that is in contact with other rollers. A layer of predetermined thickness of the liquid is deposited on a supply roller having a tangential speed relatively slower than that of the inking roller. The supply roller supplies liquid over a contact area of the contacting rollers and the liquid product is transferred and spread into a thinner layer on the inking roller, either directly or indirectly.
