  • Publication number: 20190242891
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for analyzing biological samples by immunofixation electrophoresis which involves immunodisplacement of target component(s) that may be present in the assayed biological sample, the target component(s) amounting to interfering component(s) when interpretation of the immunofixation results is considered. The immunodisplacement is carried out on an electrophoretic support that is preferably a gel, as defined herein. Accordingly, the invention provides IFE using an antibody or antibodies which is(are) modified (modified antibody) to bear additional negative electric charges, the modified antibody(ies) having antigenic specificity for a predetermined target immunoglobulin.

  • Patent number: 7297244
Abstract: Capillary electrophoresis systems, reagents, and processes for analyzing a sample which includes at least one protein constituent are disclosed. The processes involve introducing the sample into a capillary tube containing a buffer system, wherein said buffer system includes at least one additive having a hydrophobic interaction with said at least one protein constituent and providing said at least one protein constituent with at least one negative charge thereby modifying the electrophoretic mobility.

  • Publication number: 20050142503
Abstract: The present invention concerns a presentation an azo dye for staining proteins to allow their analysis, in particular of the amido black type, which is a concentrate in a liquid medium, and to a method for preparing a protein staining solution. It also concerns staining kits comprising said concentrated stain solutions.

  • Patent number: 6572746
Abstract: The invention concerns a composition for use in a process for separating the constituents of a sample by electrophoresis on an electrophoresis support, comprising one or more ionic compounds which, on applying an electric field to an electrophoresis support having negative surface charges, causes hydration of the zone for loading the sample to be separated when said zone carries a compression mark resulting from loading the sample.

  • Patent number: 5926271
Abstract: A laser-induced fluorescence detector comprises a laser beam emitting device, a dichroic mirror to deviate the laser light orthogonally, a lens with a small numerical aperture, a ball lens, a unique cell within a capillary, the cell receiving a solute containing at least one unknown fluorescent substance at the laser wavelength, the same device collecting the fluorescence emitted by the fluorescent substance, with optical filters, a photomultiplier tube, and a computer for displaying results of the analysis. The ball lens converts the laser beam into a very small divergent beam, which allows a high irradiated volume in the capillary cell. The cell employs controlled geometric contours to prevent laminar mixing and turbulence during liquid flow, and the collecting device is a high numerical aperture device, for example, a ball lens.
