  • Patent number: 7134559
Abstract: An eyeglass frame holder for holding and displaying eyeglasses of different size and thickness. The eyeglass frame holder has one or more vertical posts to which one or more supporting members are for supporting an eyeglass frame having two glass retaining portions joined by a bridge portion. A pair of retaining pins are symmetrically mounted onto each of the supporting members at a short distance from the vertical post to which the supporting member is attached. Each supporting member is connected to the vertical post in such a way so as to project horizontally from it. Each supporting member is also shaped and sized to fit into and support the bridge portion of the eyeglass frame. The pair of retaining pins extend coaxially in an horizontal direction perpendicular to the vertical post so as to come into contact and hold the glass retaining portions on both sides of the bridge portion below the same where the eyeglass frame is positioned onto the supporting member.

  • Patent number: 5176262
Abstract: A display apparatus for displaying products such as eyeglasses or jewels, comprising a heavy base, a main stem having one end pivotally fixed to the base and another free end, and a tip element fixed to the free end of the main stem. The tip element includes another pivotable stem and a vise to attach the product to be displayed. Screws are used to apply friction to the surfaces of the stems to keep them in any desired orientation while allowing the stems to be turned without a tool. A brass tip helps reducing the wear on the stem surfaces in contact with the screws. The display apparatus may further comprise a sliding element including another pivotable stem and another vise to attach another product. The display apparatus is particularly well adapted for displaying eyeglasses in an optical shop window.

  • Patent number: 5024516
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus capable of holding a pair of lenses in front of a mirror, in order to help a person having a poor vision to proceed adequately to make-up her eyes. This apparatus comprises a support comprising a T-shaped member on the cross arm of which a pair of spaced lens carriers are mounted. A pair of opthalmic lenses are mounted on the carriers to fit the viewer's eyes. The support is detachably connectable to the mirror by way of a suction-cup or any other mechanical attachment, to lie in a common plane parallel to the mirror.

  • Patent number: 4713912
Abstract: A lens and pattern holder for use with a grinding tool comprising a rotary grinding ring mounted in coaxial relationship with respect to a grinding ring of the same diameter. The holder comprises a solid body having a pair of opposite surfaces spaced apart so that the peripheries thereof respectively face the grinding and guiding rings of the tool. A pair of pins projects upwardly from one of the opposite surfaces of the body for detachably connecting thereto a pattern having a peripheral edge extending away from the periphery of the one surface. Another pair of pins or a sticking pad is provided on the other opposite surface of the body for detachably mounting thereon another pattern or a lens, respectively. Visible dots are also provided on the one surface of the body for properly positioning and aligning the lens with respect to the pattern connected to the opposite surface of this body.

  • Patent number: 4693573
Abstract: An universal frame centering, holding and measuring device for use by an optician to transcribe and check a distance interpupillary distance a reading interpupillary distance, a segment height measured onto a customer, directly and precisely on a set of lenses mounted on a frame. The device comprises a base having a longitudinal axis, on which the frame may be positioned in flat position. A central pin supporting a vertical cylinder having such diameter as to fit within the bridge of the frame, projects from the base. A frame holder is slidably mounted onto the base. The frame holder is movable along the longitudinal axis of the base and comprises a vertical front wall extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the base.

  • Patent number: 4541760
Abstract: A multipurpose apparatus for drilling, engraving and carving ophthalmic lenses. The apparatus comprises a base in which is mounted an electrical motor, and a tool holder is connected to the shaft of the motor for detachably mounting a drilling, engraving or carving end mill above the upper surface of the base. A working support is also mounted on the upper surface of the base for maintaining and supporting the lenses in the various positions in which they must stand in order to be easily drilled, engraved or carved. The working support comprises a platform detachably mounted onto the upper surface of the base, and a guide holder rigidly mounted onto the platform in parallel relationship with respect to the tool holder. The support also comprises a L-shaped tube having one end fitted into a central hole provided in the platform for giving room to the tool holder, and the other end connected to the guide holder.
