Publication number: 20120016652Abstract: Systems and methods related to fast simulation of power supply networks and identification of a set of extrema (e.g., maxima or minima) waveforms associated with the power supply networks. In accordance with an embodiment, a method is provided for simulating an electrical circuit, comprising preselecting an input vector file, initializing a supply voltage to a fixed value, performing event driven simulation using the input vector file, so as to extract time-varying power supply current waveforms at a plurality of power grid points. The method also comprises simulating a power grid using a linear network simulator or other SPICE type simulation tool, so as to derive time-varying voltage waveforms from the current waveforms for each point on the power grid.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2010Publication date: January 19, 2012Applicant: NANOTROPIC S.A.Inventors: Georgios Stamoulis, Sotirios Bantas, Dimitrios Bountas, Nestoras Evmorfopoulos, Michael Tsiampas, Panayotis Merakos

Patent number: 5838203Abstract: A method and an apparatus for generating oscillating waveforms using adiabatic circuitry. In one embodiment, an LC oscillating circuit generates oscillating waveforms that are replenished with replenishing circuitry. The replenishing circuitry includes enable circuitry and circuitry that reduces short circuit currents that may flow through the replenishing circuit. Furthermore, the pull-up and pull-down devices of the replenishing circuit are gradually turned on and gradually turned off to reduce the introduction of glitches into the oscillating sinusoidal waveform of the oscillating circuit. A control circuit, such as a phase lock loop circuit, is included with the present invention to receive an external clock reference waveform and match the frequency and phase of the oscillating waveform in the oscillating circuit to the external clock reference waveform.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1996Date of Patent: November 17, 1998Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Georgios Stamoulis, Yibin Ye
