  • Patent number: 4689365
Abstract: Polyester molding composition containing polybutylene terephthalate, nucleated polyethylene terephthalate or mixtures thereof as well as thermally stable reinforcing fibers and polyphenylene sulfide having a melt flow rate of less than about 1,000.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 6, 1986
Date of Patent: August 25, 1987
    Assignee: Celanese Engineering Resins, Inc.
Inventors: Varkki P. Chacko, Gerald A. Baum
  • Patent number: 4677150
Abstract: Poly(C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkylene terephthalate) molding composition containing aromatic polyester carbonate and impact modifier. The aromatic polyester carbonate is derived from a dihydric phenol, a carbonate precursor and dicarboxylic acid or ester forming derivative thereof. The impact modifier may be a core-shell polymer polymerized from monomers comprising butadiene or may be a core-shell polymer having a first elastomeric phase polymerized from a monomer system including C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylacrylate as well as crosslinking and graftlinking monomers and having a final rigid thermoplastic phase polymerized in the presence of the elastomeric phase.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 1986
Date of Patent: June 30, 1987
    Assignee: Celanese Engineering Resins Inc.
Inventors: Varkki P. Chacko, Paul DeStio, Gerald A. Baum
  • Patent number: 4607075
Abstract: Poly(C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkylene terephthalate) molding composition containing aromatic polyester and impact modifier. The aromatic polyester is a linear aromatic polyester consisting essentially of bisphenol and dicarboxylic acid monomer components.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 19, 1986
    Assignee: GAF Corporation
Inventors: Gerald A. Baum, Varkki P. Chacko, Paul DeStio
  • Patent number: 4417015
Abstract: Liquid antimony organic sulfur-containing compounds are rendered stable at ambient conditions by incorporating an effective amount of an ethoxylated organo phosphate ester. The stable liquid compositions contribute to the stability of vinyl halide resins.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 6, 1981
Date of Patent: November 22, 1983
    Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.
Inventors: Ramchandra K. Hulyalkar, Gerald A. Baum, Kanayo Hotchandani
  • Patent number: 4269743
Abstract: A vinyl halide resin stabilizer composition which essentially contains:(a) a calcium, zinc or mixed calcium/zinc salt of a higher fatty acid; and(b) a polyhydroxy alcohol component wherein at least 50% of this component is either di-or tri-pentaerythritol.These compositions synergistically contribute to the heat stability of vinyl halide resin compositions and offer significant heat stabilization economies. Early color as well as long term heat stability performances of the metal salt compounds are improved in the compositions disclosed thereby permitting the reduction in amounts of such compounds needed for stabilization.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 4, 1979
Date of Patent: May 26, 1981
    Assignee: Dart Industries Inc.
Inventors: Ramchandra K. Hulyalkar, Gerald A. Baum
