  • Patent number: 4946102
Abstract: Vehicular apparatus for spraying herbicides and insecticides has a supporting frame for being carried by a truck or trailer. Upright supports are carried by the frame and trailing boom supports extend rearwardly from the upright supports, which carry structure for selective pivoting of the trailing boom supports relative to the upright supports to permit vertical adjustability of the spray. Lateral booms are supported by the trailing boom supports and connected to them such that the lateral booms can pivot relative to the trailing boom supports and ground. The lateral booms include a supporting base section, a mid-section, and a boom tip section. At least the tip section of the lateral boom includes spray nozzles for selective liquid spraying. A pivotal connector connects and provides forward and backward horizontal pivotal movement of the boom mid-sections relative to the boom base sections.

  • Patent number: 4784324
Abstract: Apparatus for spraying of liquids for herbicidal and insecticidal application and the like has a supporting frame for being carried by a vehicle. An upright support is carried by the frame including an upright post and includes a hydraulic cylinder for providing selective vertical telescoping movement of the post. A hydraulic cylinder provides rotation of the post, for rotating a boom carried by the post. A hydraulic cylinder also provides selective pivoting of the supporting boom section relative to the post for vertical movement. The boom has a supporting boom section, a mid-boom section and a reconfigurable boom end element which may be either an articulating tip boom section or a strip spray attachment of "wishbone" configuration. A hydraulic motor provides selective telescoping movement of the mid-boom section relative to the supporting boom sections. The supporting boom section, mid-boom section and boom end element all include spray nozzles.

  • Patent number: 4697405
Abstract: A mower for mowing under fences or guardrails and the like has trailer mounted multiple rotary mower units including a first multiple blade unit for rotating on a vertical axis around posts and for mowing under and behind the fence or guardrail and a single rotary mower unit for mowing under the fence or guardrail on the inside. Both units having vertical and horizontal movements to desired positions adjacent to and under the guardrail or fence. The trailer is steered automatically parallel to the fence or guardrail being mown by a spring-loaded steering axle and steering linkage including a pressure wheel running against the guardrail or fence. The inside and outside mowers can be rotated into travel positions so the entire unit can be towed by tractor, truck, or other vehicle upon highways.
