  • Patent number: 5745919
Abstract: A protective glove comprising a cut-resistant glove and a grip enhancing sheath affixed to the cut-resistant glove. The sheath is preferably made of leather and is symmetrical providing a gripping surface that overlies substantially similar portions of a front and back side of the cut-resistant glove such that the protective glove is adapted for both right and left handed use. In one embodiment of the protective glove, the sheath is configured to overlie the thumb, index and middle finger stalls of the cut-resistant glove as well as a portion of the palm area of the glove. In a second embodiment of the protective glove, the sheath is configured to overlie the thumb and index finger stalls of the cut-resistant glove as well as a portion of the palm area of the glove.

  • Patent number: 4791270
Abstract: This invention relates to a machine for practicing the gas tungsten arc welding process which includes means for rotating the welding torch continuously while welding. Means are provided for feeding the shielding gases, feed wire and electric current to the rotating torch while welding. Means are also provided for tilting the torch about the point of welding. This invention makes it possible to weld continuously along a spiral path about a cylindrical object or on a flat or irregular surface.

  • Patent number: 4002129
Abstract: Clamping apparatus for an automatic sewing machine comprising, first clamp means for retaining a first work piece, and second clamp means for retaining a second work piece adjacent the first work piece. Means is provided for movably mounting the first and second clamp means for relative movement therebetween with the first clamp means being located intermediate the second clamp means and a work surface. First means is provided for applying a separating force between the first and second clamp means. Second means is also provided for selectively applying a variable force against the second clamp means in a direction urging the second clamp means toward the first clamp means, with the second applying means separately applying forces at levels less than and greater than the separating force.

  • Patent number: 3974787
Abstract: A fabric positioning holder is automatically moved by computer directed first and second stepper motors. A force generating means urges the jaws of the fabric positioning holder against the throat plate with total pressures which exceed 10 lbs. The stepper motors are, therefore, mounted such that their mass can be employed to overcome the shock forces associated with rapid movement of the holder.
