  • Patent number: 11433870
Abstract: A method for control and/or regulation of a hybrid powertrain of a motor vehicle, wherein exhaust gas is taken from an exhaust system and delivered to a fresh air supply of an internal combustion engine, wherein the residual recirculated exhaust gas is purged from the fresh air supply in the event of a negative load jump. After the negative load jump, the internal combustion engine continues to run with a smaller load and simultaneously the torque supplied by the internal combustion engine is recuperated by means of the electric machine, wherein no positive torque in total is applied to the output of the powertrain.

  • Publication number: 20080100611
Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for operating an avionics component to a given level of certification. Steps of the method include: receiving data from a sensor and sending the data to at least two components, a data monitor and an integrity monitor, the data monitor operating at a first level of certification and the integrity monitor operating at a second level of certification, the second level higher than the first level; rendering the data sent to the data monitor on a data display; using the integrity monitor, determining where at least one feature of the rendered data should appear on the data display; checking if the at least one feature of the rendered data properly appears on the data display, and if it does not, causing an error condition to appear on the data display.

  • Publication number: 20050248481
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a method and apparatus for indicating aircraft height relative to an obstruction in a terrain awareness warning system. The method includes receiving data indicative of geographic features of an obstruction, lateral distance of the geographic feature from an aircraft, height and flight path of the aircraft, calculating a projected height of the aircraft at the location of the obstruction using the data, generating a result signal, and displaying a colored indication on a display screen based on the result signal. The apparatus includes inputs for signals from instruments measuring height, flight path, and location of an aircraft, as well as an input for an instrument providing information about geographic features of terrain surrounding the aircraft. The apparatus includes a means for employing the signals to calculate an effective height of the aircraft relative to the terrain, and a screen display for graphically displaying the results of the calculation.

  • Patent number: 4675757
Abstract: A method and apparatus for synchronizing a plurality of tape recording and playback machines is described. A synchronizing device for each tape machine to be synchronized is provided. The synchronizing devices are coupled to each other via a communications channel including a serial port for transmitting control information and an additional conductor for transmitting master timing reference pulses. A synchronizing device is chosen as a master device. The master device transmits master timing reference pulses via the communications channel to the remaining tape machines, the pulses indicating the start of each frame on the master tape. Each of the remaining tape machines is a slave to the master. Frame numbers for selected frames on the master tape are transmitted on the serial port to the slave tape machines, but only on an infrequent basis, i.e., a frame number is not transmitted for each frame.

  • Patent number: 4593258
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the temperature of a device whose temperature is to be stabilized within a preset range is disclosed. The apparatus is particularly applicable to stabilizing the temperature, and thus frequency of operation of, a crystal controlled oscillator, without expending additional energy in specialized crystal heating apparatus. The apparatus preferably includes first and second power supply regulators coupled to a source of unregulated voltage. The second power supply regulator preferably has a higher output voltage than the first power supply regulator and the outputs of the two regulators are coupled together. The cyrstal is attached to the second regulator so that heat generated by the second regulator is dissipated in the crystal. A temperature sensing device is coupled to the crystal and generates a signal proportional to the temperature of the crystal.
