    Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymeric composition which may be processed with increased scorch safety while retaining good physical properties. The composition of the invention comprises the combination of a specific retarder (vulcanization inhibitor) and at least one of two specific accelerators, and such composition prevents premature vulcanization of the chloroprene while it is being mixed and processed, yet provides excellent cure characteristics at the proper time, producing polymeric products with excellent dynamic properties.
