  • Patent number: 6499244
Abstract: A firearm safety lock for positioning in the chamber of a firearm and preventing the firing of the firearm until the device is removed from the chamber. The firearm safety lock includes an elongate housing for positioning in a chamber of a firearm, and having a longitudinal axis extending between the opposite first and second ends. The housing has an interior and the second end thereof has an opening. A first end member is mounted on and protrudes from the first end of the housing. A lock channel extends from the housing. A second end member is mounted on the second end of the housing. The second end member is slidably mounted in the interior of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5890373
Abstract: The invention is of a new design for a room air conditioner. An air conditioner according to the present design will emit a substantially lower operating noise level than units of comparable cooling capacity and energy consumption. Additionally, the present design prescribes a coil design which requires approximately one-third less aluminum and copper than similarly performing room air conditioner units. The benefits of the present design arise from its reliance on a single row, wrap-around coil design which is used in conjunction with a tangential blower assembly. The single row evaporator coil of the present invention inherently produces less "wind noise" than multiple row coils.

  • Patent number: 5732565
Abstract: An air conditioning unit comprising a refrigeration assembly, an air handling assembly, and a control assembly. The refrigeration assembly includes a generally rectangular base pan having upturned edges and a floor having a raised section, the base pan having a condenser, an evaporator, and a compressor mounted to an upper surface thereof. The air handling assembly includes a bulkhead having adjacent side wall portions, a scroll, a motor having an output shaft, a motor mount bracket for engaging the base pan of the refrigeration assembly, a fan, and a blower engaging the output shaft of the motor, a fan shroud and struts for mounting the shroud to the bulkhead and an air plenum assembly. The control assembly includes a control housing and a control panel.

  • Patent number: 3990261
Abstract: An air conditioning unit in which a housing is provided having side walls adapted to extend within an opening formed in an exterior wall of a room to be cooled. Air inlet and outlet means are associated with the front wall and rear walls of the housing to circulate room air and ambient air through the unit. A condenser heat exchanger and an evaporator heat exchanger are disposed in the housing in proximity to its rear wall and front wall, respectively, and extend at an angle relative to the latter walls. Ambient air is circulated into the inlet associated with the rear wall, across the condenser heat exchanger and out the outlet associated with the rear wall, and room air is circulated through the inlet associated with the front wall, across the evaporator heat exchanger and out the outlet associated with the front wall.

  • Patent number: 3943323
Abstract: A bonding head for connecting the electrically conductive leads of a tape cable or the like to other electrical conductors. The bonding head, which applies heat and pressure to the electrical conductors and leads to bond them together, is an elongated member comprised of a material having high mechanical strength but low thermal conductivity which contains a conduit comprised of a material having low mechanical strength but high thermal conductivity. A heating element inserted in the conduit supplies heat to the conduit and bonding head. This arrangement provides a bonding head having a high mechanical strength and hence structural failure and deformation of the bonding head is reduced.
