  • Publication number: 20130073627
Abstract: Information may be presented to a user by using a first application to receive a character stream of one or more noncompletion characters. The noncompletion characters indicate that additional characters may be received. The character stream is exchanged with a host that analyzes the character stream to generate results that are responsive to the user's predicted interest. Results are received and displayed so that the user may select one of the results to launch a code segment related to the selected result.

Abstract: A portable recreation and entertainment system for use with a motorized vehicle is provided. The system includes a housing having a generally horizontal base portion and a top portion oriented vertically distal therefrom. A plurality of walls extends between the base and top, connecting the two portions and thereby defining an opening facing away from the vehicle. A first door extends laterally across a lower portion of the opening, and connects to a wall portion to selectively rotate from a closed position to an open position. A second door extends laterally across an upper portion of the opening, and connects to another wall portion to selectively rotate from a closed position to an open position. A support platform is connected to the housing and supportably attached to a rearward end of the vehicle by a support arm that preferably includes a mating member configured to mate with a trailer hitch.

  • Publication number: 20110202543
Abstract: A method, processing system and computer program product for optimising a search of a collection of images. In one aspect, the method includes iteratively performing, in a processing system, steps of comparing a test search result set for a search query to a user defined expected search result set for the search query, wherein the search query includes a query feature set of a search image, each feature being associated with a weight; and adjusting one or more weights of the query feature set according to the results of the comparison to improve the similarity between the test and expected search result sets, thereby optimising a future image search of the collection of images.

  • Publication number: 20110200251
Abstract: A method of image retrieval from a target image collection, including segmenting a query image into two or more bands, obtaining weighted colour histogram vectors for the two or more bands in the query image, and obtaining weighted colour histogram vectors for two or more bands in a target image. A distance measurement is determined between the query image and the target image using the weighted colour histogram vectors from corresponding bands in the query image and the target image. Bands in an image can be groups, strips, sections, regions, or the like, and can be linear bands, rectangular bands, circular bands, or the like. The bands are preferably, though not necessarily, concentric or otherwise aligned and any number of bands can be utilised. Also, content based image retrieval is provided that incorporates use of varying photo composition in different regions as a technique for improving accuracy of retrieval.

  • Publication number: 20110188713
Abstract: A method or system providing face verification, including obtaining a set of features from a selected image and determining if there are any faces in the selected image. If faces are determined a dominance factor is assigned to at least one face and verification of an identity of the at least one face in the selected image is attempted and a confidence score returned. In attempting to verify the identity of the at least one face any identity information is extracted from metadata associated with the selected image. Also disclosed is a method of facial image retrieval, including defining a query image set from one or more selected facial images, determining a dissimilarity measurement between at least one query feature and at least one target feature. This enables identification of one or more identified facial images from the target facial image set based on the dissimilarity measurement.

  • Publication number: 20080059456
Abstract: Expert domains for a query category represent domains from which a high percentage of search results for queries associated with the query category are retrieved. The expert domains are identified by establishing a base statistical model that indicates frequencies of appearance for domains in search results retrieved for queries corresponding to multiple categories. In addition, frequencies of domain appearance are determined for search results retrieved for queries associated with a category. Domains that appear more frequently in the search results corresponding to the category are identified as expert domains for the category. A user may be allowed to customize expert domains related to one or more categories by adding or removing expert domains for the category.

  • Patent number: 4299895
Abstract: A photographic element comprising a support, a layer containing an image dye ligand or dye ligand forming material and a layer containing a dye mordant, wherein the mordant layer has associated therewith:(1) a polymer containing groups which form coordination complexes with metal ions; and(2) a source of metal ions. The polymer holds the metal ions in the vicinity of the dye mordant so that the metal ions can metallize the dye or dye forming material at the image receiving layer. These complexes, elements, and receiving elements are particularly useful in diffusion transfer processes. Novel polymers are also described.
