  • Publication number: 20260146473
Abstract: An electronically-controlled manually-actuated deadbolt lock is provided. The electronically-controlled manually-actuated deadbolt lock includes an internal spring-actuated coupling mechanism that, when a user is authenticated, the coupling mechanism is placed in an engaged position that allows a deadbolt latch to be moved into a locked or unlocked position responsive to a manual rotation of a turn piece. Because the deadbolt latch is manually driven, a warped door condition can be overcome. Additionally, because the deadbolt latch is manually actuated, operation of the electronic motor may be decreased, which may increase battery life.

  • Patent number: 7525411
Abstract: A door lock is provided with a biometric sensor and a key cylinder. The biometric sensor is protected by being positioned on a shield, and such that the sensor is not exposed to damage by being on the front face of the door lock. The shield extends vertically downwardly from the remainder of the front face of the door lock, and the sensor is mounted to an inner face of the shield. Thus, the sensor is spaced away from a door when the door lock is mounted on a door. A finger may be inserted into a space between the sensor and the door, and the sensor can then capture information about the fingerprint. This information can be compared to expected fingerprints, and entry into a building can be granted based upon a recognition of this fingerprint.

  • Patent number: RE45627
Abstract: A re-keyable lockset that employs pairs of first and second pins. Coupling of the first and second pins to one another defines a key profile for a mating key. A second key with a different key profile may be installed to the lockset when the first and second pins are uncoupled from one another. Thereafter, the first and second pins may be re-coupled to one another to define the key profile of a new mating key. A method for re-keying a lockset is also provided.
