Patent number: 5746408Abstract: An optical filter screen for a visual display monitor includes an optical filter supported by a support frame. A pair of adjustable mounting members support the support frame from a visual display monitor or similar such that the optical filter is positioned adjacent a display area of the display monitor. Each mounting member includes a stem element with a first and second end. A support element is rotatably engaged with the first end of the stem element so that in a first stop position the support element extends outwardly from the stem element to engage a top surface of the visual display unit. The support element folds down into a second storage position in which it lies substantially parallel with the stem element.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1996Date of Patent: May 5, 1998Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Scott G. Patent number: 5367575Abstract: An electronic stethoscope which is adapted to receive auscultatory sounds from a body, is adapted to transmit the auscultatory sounds to a user, or other medical device which is adapted to be powered by a battery. The stethoscope has a chestpiece adapted to utilized in cooperation with the body, an acoustical transducer cooperating with the chestpiece for receiving the auscultatory sounds and transforming the auscultatory sounds into an electrical input signal. The stethoscope or medical device has an electronic processor for processing the electrical signal. The stethoscope has a speaker for converting the electrical output signal into an acoustical output signal and an earpiece receiving the acoustical output signal and providing the acoustical output signal to the user. The chestpiece (or housing of the medical device) has a cavity adapted to contain the battery.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1992Date of Patent: November 22, 1994Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Alan P. Patent number: 5227916Abstract: An optical filter screen for a visual display monitor includes an optical filter supported by a support frame. A pair of adjustable mounting members support the support frame from the visual display monitor such that the optical filter is positioned adjacent a display area of the display monitor. Each mounting member includes a latch member that is movable between an unlatched state wherein the filter can be moved relative to the display area of the display monitor and a latched state wherein the filter is held in a desired position relative to the display area. Each mounting member further includes a movable latch operator for moving the latch member between the latched state and the unlatched state.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1992Date of Patent: July 13, 1993Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Scott G. Patent number: 5176106Abstract: A closable band includes a strap and a clasp. The strap is made of a material having a substantial coefficient of static friction when its ends overlap and contact each other. The clasp is formed with a base portion and an upper portion which are connected by a hinge. A latch secures the free edges of the base portion and the upper portion together. When the band is assembled by overlapping the ends of the strap and securing the clasp around the overlapped ends of the strap, the base portion and the upper portion provide a clamping force on the overlapped ends.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1990Date of Patent: January 5, 1993Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Jane L.
