    Abstract: An automatic damper for closing the flue of a furnace during periods of non-combustion utilizing a pivotally mounted linkage arm spring biased against a motor driven cam to effect rotation of the damper to open and close the flue. Switches, responsive to the position of the damper operate to selectively activate the motor in accordance with the combustion state of the furnace. Provisions are also described for inhibiting combustion in the furnace when the damper is not in an open position.
