  • Publication number: 20060168592
Abstract: A hazard information coordination system is provided with intelligent routing to enhance the distribution of information from multiple information sources to a plurality of destinations. Routing is performed based on data values and associated intelligence that determines what data is relevant to which users. User preferences, geographical location, local environment, current activities, and planned activities help a decision support system determine what data is relevant for each user. Thus, decision support systems are preferably provided with situational awareness, context awareness, and forecasting capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20060159235
Abstract: A system and method that provides a map image as part of, or along with, ALI information by dispatching a map query to a central map server after receipt of the ALI information, which includes an address, geo-coordinates or both. A map image corresponding to the requested location is returned. The ALI database may request the map image after retrieving or determining the location of the caller. Data to generate map images is stored in a central server or group of servers. In this manner, the data only has to be updated once for all users to have the updates. Further, the map server may be connected to wireline telephone facilities, wireless telephone facilities, or both, in a manner that is complimentary to the topography of the telephone network.

  • Patent number: 7054611
Abstract: A system for providing particular information relating to a caller placing a call from a mobile calling instrument to a special number service station in a telecommunication network includes: (a) an information store for storing a body of information including the particular information identified as relating to the caller; and (b) an interface unit communicatingly coupled at least with the information store and the special number service station. The interface unit responds to a query identifying the calling instrument from the special number service station by retrieving the particular information from the information store and communicating the particular information to the special number service station.

  • Publication number: 20060035647
Abstract: A system and method that provides communication devices with the capability of informing the user where the other party is located. A communication device receives a communication initialization signal. The communication device then receives data comprising location data of the communication device that initiated the communication. The data is translated into human-understandable form and conveyed to the user of the communication device. The device may be a mobile telephone, personal digital assistant, two-way pager or any other similar mobile system. The human-understandable form may be text on a text display, graphics on a graphics display (such as a map) or audio information. Alternatively, a communication device receives location data as part of the communication initialization signal. The device then translates the location data into human-understandable form and conveys that data to the user of the communication device.

  • Publication number: 20030109245
Abstract: The present invention is related to the delivery of requests for emergency service initially handled by an emergency service call center to a public safety answering point. The invention additionally allows for enhancement information to be provided to a public safety answering point operator visually in connection with calls routed to that public safety answering point. This information may include caller identification, and additional information, such as information regarding the location of the caller and the nature of the emergency. Furthermore, the routing of requests for emergency service to an appropriate public safety answering point can be accomplished for requests received over a wide geographic area. In particular, requests can be appropriately routed even though they may originate from locations encompassed by different emergency network tandems.
