  • Patent number: 8588650
Abstract: Two thick film charging devices or a common thick film charge device with two separated obverse conductors, sharing a common power supply are used for photoreceptor charge and erase. The thick film charging devices use a set of AC biased electrodes supported on a dielectric material which also support a counter electrode on an opposite side of the dielectric. A DC offset applied to the counter electrodes is used to set photoreceptor charge level. One DC voltage is used for photoreceptor charge and a zero or near zero DC voltage is used to erase residual charge for the photoreceptor.

  • Patent number: 8494401
Abstract: An Active Ozone Scrubber includes a low profile thick film device. The low profile thick film device is composed of films layered upon each other and built on a ceramic substrate. Each layer is screened upon the next with the active elements strategically placed in order to develop corona when energized. When activated, the corona developed within the channels of the upper layer creates heat and accelerates the chemical reaction with the ozone, thereby reducing the amount of ozone generated by a conventional charge/discharge system before it is exhausted by a machine into the environment.

  • Patent number: 8478173
Abstract: A limited ozone generator transfer device includes a ceramic substrate having conducting lines, a dielectric layer, and a top conducting layer with slots therein that align with the underlying conducting lines. Corona is generated in the slots by applying an AC voltage of about 2.5 kVp-p across the electrodes. This device is “green” in that it generates significantly less ozone than conventional transfer devices, thus reducing requirements on an ozone collection system.

  • Patent number: 8193495
Abstract: A system and apparatus that removes and collects non-functional wire assemblies from dicorotron units is described. It has a removal tool with flexible levers mounted on the top of a storage box. The removal tool has an open top and bottom, the open bottom is aligned with an opening in the top of the box to permit a dislodged anchor and wire assembly to fall therethrough.

  • Patent number: 7420169
Abstract: Electrostatic printing processes utilize corona-charging units. When those units wear out or become faulty, they need to be replaced. This embodiment provides a tool that can be used to remove a faulty electrode wire assembly from the unit. This same tool when loaded with a new wire assembly can insert a new wire assembly into the emptied corona charging unit, sometimes referred to as a dicorotron unit. The tool, therefore, is used both to remove or insert a wire assembly from or into a dicorotron unit.
