  • Patent number: 4198103
Abstract: A track assembly for a vehicle comprising powered wheels at each side, and an endless track sleeved over the wheels on each side having solely a smooth driven surface friction contact with the associated wheels, whereby when the driving torque overcomes the coefficient of friction the wheels are caused to momentarily slip until the friction drive becomes reestablished and in which novel scrapers are provided to maintain the driven surface clean of mud and rocks and having guides for maintaining the tracks on the wheels.

  • Patent number: 4186806
Abstract: A variable width furrow-spacing plow system embodied in an implement having a laterally adjustable tractor hitch, an angularly adjustable plow-carrying main frame, and hydraulic means for correlating the lateral movement of the hitch and angular position of the frame, to the end that for any given furrow spacing the hitch point of the implement will fall closer to the line of pull than has heretofore been possible, and minimum pulling force will be required to motivate the implement. The system embodies a pull bar or frame which has its forward end pivoted to the adjustable tractor hitch and its rear end pivoted to a medial region of the plow-carrying frame. A hydraulic ram controls the lateral adjustment of the hitch, while a second ram controls the angularity between the pull frame and the main frame. The two rams are phased for operation in unison under the control of a valve in the cab of the tractor.

  • Patent number: 4171726
Abstract: A folding sectional tool bar for agricultural implements and including a series of articulated hollow sections connected together in end-to-end fashion so as to provide an inner main-section, a pair of outer sections, and a pair of intermediate sections. An offset hinge joint between each outer section and its adjacent intermediate section permits them to be latched in an aligned working arrangement and allows generally horizontal folding of the outer sections forwardly relative to the adjacent intermediate sections. An offset hinge joint between each intermediate section and its adjacent main section permits the intermediate sections to float down about 5.degree. relative to the main section and allows vertical folding of the intermediate sections relative to such main section. Hydraulic two-stage cylinders are provided whereby an initial partial fold of 5.degree. intermediate sections can elevate them relative to the inner main section to an angle of about 5.degree.

  • Patent number: 4164122
Abstract: An improved master cylinder in which a pair of orifices extend through the cylinder wall and means is provided on the exterior of the cylinder to permit fluid communication therebetween. The orifices are located near the end of the cylinder to permit restricted flow around the piston in the master cylinder when it is near or at the end of its stroke to cause both the master and slave piston to complete their strokes and at substantially the same time. A similar pair of orifices and an exterior communication means at the other end of the cylinder provides for re-phasing during piston movement in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4161986
Abstract: A plow mounting bracket for variable width plows including a mounting post having a free end that extends upwardly from a hub portion and is pivotally received by the plow main frame. The plow bracket can be used for plows that are secured at selected widths or plows in which the width can be varied during the operation of the plow.

  • Patent number: 4046203
Abstract: A folding sectional tool bar for agricultural implements and including a hollow horizontal main section and wing sections hingedly connected thereto for independent movement between lowered operative positions and raised inoperative over-center parked positions. An articulated actuating linkage mechanism for each wing section embodies a hydraulic cylinder wholly positioned within the main section and having a plunger operatively connected to a crank arm on the adjacent wing section by means of a draw link which functions initially as the plunger is extended to engage the crank arm and transmit torque to the latter so as to raise the wing section by a powerful leverage action, and which subsequently functions, as the plunger continues to be extended, to move away from the crank arm and act in tension and transmit the necessary torque to raise the wing section and force it over to its parked position.

  • Patent number: 3965989
Abstract: A large moldboard plow utilizing a multi-piece backbone or main frame connected by a hinge or hinges and a floatation land wheel or wheels. The hinge or hinges being arranged such that a uniform interval is maintained between the last plow bottom on the front section and the first plow bottom on the rear section. The floatation wheel follows the contour of the land which causes flexing of the backbone at the hinge resulting in uniform depth of all bottoms. The hinge or hinges are located to provide a practical line of draft for the rear section thus maintaining balance of the entire unit.
