  • Patent number: 9460565
Abstract: A system for the diagnosis of a component of a motor vehicle includes a sever configured to provide at least one test sequence for diagnosing the component and at least one execution parameter allocated to the test sequence. The system also includes a diagnostic device configured to receive at least one test sequence and the at least one execution parameter, and to convert it into a runtime script and execute the runtime script according to the execution parameters. A script generation device is configured to generate the test sequences as OTX script or as ETX script.

  • Publication number: 20090306849
Abstract: In a diagnostic system, messages which have occurred are collected and buffered with a short diagnostic test which is implemented in a control unit onboard the vehicle. The collected data are then transmitted into a memory area of the portable electronic driving authorization record, which therefore always contains the result of a short diagnostic test which has been carried out onboard. The result of this short diagnostic test is read out from the memory of the driving authorization record with a computer system in the customer reception of a servicing workshop, and is processed with a more wide-ranging diagnostic algorithm which builds on the result of the short diagnostic test.

  • Publication number: 20090204287
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle diagnostic system for acquiring and storing diagnostic data and transmitting them from control units in a motor vehicle to a computer outside the motor vehicle. The system is composed of components which are located inside the vehicle and of components which are located outside the vehicle. Using a transmission module, in which a short diagnostic test is implemented, diagnostic data from onboard components are interrogated and are transmitted via a WLAN link to the computer system of a service company. The diagnostic data of the onboard components can be further processed using the computer system. The disclosed invention is aimed in particular at assisting a service employee in the vehicle reception of a service workshop.

  • Publication number: 20090177352
Abstract: A vehicle diagnosis system for ascertaining, storing and transmitting diagnosis data from control units in a motor vehicle to a computer outside of the motor vehicle has components which are inside of the vehicle and components which are outside of the vehicle. The onboard components are capable of autonomously requesting diagnosis data from control units, buffer-storing the diagnosis data and of transmitting the diagnosis data to offboard components. The offboard components can be used to configure the onboard components, to visually display the transmitted data and to forward said data to subsequent systems. Access is effected using a communication module, which is preferably implemented in a diagnosis control unit with a dedicated gateway and which is not the control unit for the central locking. A gateway for diagnosis applications is present in the vehicle in the case of vehicles with a diagnosis CAN bus or with another diagnosis bus.
