    Abstract: A motor vehicle with a front opening hood and windshield ascending from a rear edge of the front opening hood is provided. The motor vehicle includes a cross member, whose front edge section supports a front lower edge of the windshield, and whose rear edge section abuts against a structural element of the body. A first side of the cross member faces the passenger cabin and a second side faces the engine compartment. The cross member is divided by slits into a plurality of webs spaced apart in the transverse direction of the body, and the slits are tightly sealed by a film.
