  • Publication number: 20160146803
Abstract: The invention relates to a sample testing device for conducting a heterogenous assay, for example an ELISA, in a capillary lumen, using one way flow of sample and wash buffer to move the reaction through the binding, separation and signal measurement steps, thus minimising external intervention. The capillary passage is configured to allow time within different zones for reaction, capture, separation of bound and free fractions, and signal measurement. A combined capture-signal read zone is provided to maximise the capture of signal linked binding member, and signal measurement within the capture zone.

  • Patent number: 9201065
Abstract: The invention relates to agglutination assays and related kits, reagents and devices. In particular methods of assaying small analytes having few epitopes are disclosed, by means of using hub moieties to which multiple analytes may be bound by a first epitope, together with a further moiety capable of binding a second analyte epitope and which is also capable of binding to a detectable particle. Stable agglutinated complexes may be so formed, which may used as the basis for various assay formats.

  • Publication number: 20150212080
Abstract: A modified form of saturation assay is provided that is based on the measurement of a free or unbound labelled reagent fraction (such that there is an increase in signal in the presence of analyte) and employs trapping zones to concentrate said unbound or free labelled faction to avoid loss of sensitivity. Preferably the assay is a membrane assay.

  • Publication number: 20140106382
Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid flow device, in particular a capillary testing device provided as a chip, comprising a second pathway which intersects the first pathway at a downstream point of convergence, so that the two pathways share an outlet and when liquid in the second pathway reaches the point of convergence, liquid flow in the first pathway stops. Means for measuring the distance travelled by liquid in the first pathway are provided to determine the extent of liquid flow and to enable correlation with the amount of analyte in the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6299567
Abstract: An independently rotatably mounted container may be used, by agitating the contents thereof, in the performance of a multi-component reaction or assay, by selective rotation of said container in the presence of adjacently mounted component containers which are not rotated. Such a principle may be applied in suspending solid phases in, for example, automated immunoassay apparatus or in reconstituting freeze dried reagents. Selective rotation has a number of advantages including gentleness to components and greater efficiency and reliability.
